I was looking forward to the new 4. The thing to me is, the 4 was commonly referred to as getting a bit long in the tooth compared to competitors. Does this really "refresh" anything for long, in that context? I do like the exterior as much as the current version, but its just a bit of a let down somehow.
And to me, I think the interior is a major regressive step, but that's coming from someone who hates the crazy glued tablet on the top of the dash look in any car.
Was the A4 being called long in the tooth because of its appearance or because of its driving dynamics and mechanical bits? I'd suggest the latter. The styling doesn't need a major rework, just an evolutionary update in line with the brand which is exactly what I see here.
