Interesting article, was a little disappointed to see it so short, but I guess you can go into too much detail, or we would have to buy the book.  Anyway regarding the "2 seater Solstice in 1996" I think you mean 2006.

My dad had a 52 Pontiac 2 door post sitting in the yard beside the house for about 10 years when I was a kid.  I remember Mom gettng on his case to get rid of it or "park it down by the bush", as she said it was an eysore and he didn't do much with it.  6 cylinder, three on the tree.  He'd start it up once or twice and year and we'd go for a cruise down the backroads.  Lots of chrome, inside and out.  Very cool car, body was in good shape.  He always had aspirations of getting it painted but that never happened and sold it for a song in the early 2000's.
Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

My earliest memory of any of my Mom's cars was a 1965 Pontiac Parisenne convertible with a 283 V8 she got when I was about 5.

Just like this....

Cool car. My dad was a Pontiac man through most of the 1960s with a '62, '63, '65, and '67. Our '65 was a Parisienne 4-door hardtop in burgundy with a red interior. Sharp-looking car to a 9 year old. Interestingly, when he got rid of the '67 he ended up buying an Impala from the Pontiac dealer that they had taken in trade and hated it - should have bought another Pontiac. They were on a roll in the '60s but went off the rails badly in the '80s and  '90s and deserved to go. They were surprisingly popular in Canada right to the end though.
Since October 2015 the Junior PM has been in office.  Record mega-Billion deficits as he p*sses away our future.  An economy gutted. Stinky POTHEADS rejoice. We are going down the drain.
