Congrats on the new bike pi.

10k? Wow, and it's only September. You should have at least another month of good riding weather there, no?

And I can't remember, do you ride all year, or put the bike away once the snow flies? What mileage do you think you'll be at by Dec. 31?

Bought this yesterday for my wife as a birthday present; Giant Liv Avail Advanced SL, top carbon grade frame, carbon wheels with DT Swiss hubs, carbon bars and stem, Ultegra Di2, disk brakes, very nice bike. The great part is that Giant prices their bikes the same as in the US; disregarding the 1.3 exchange rate. That makes their bikes 30% cheaper in Canada! :) On top of that got an end of season $1300 rebate, so we just could not pass.

My wife is happy! ;)

That bike is hot! Congrats to the wife. I've been looking at the men's version (non SL though) and think that Giant is putting together some great value for the money.  She is going to love it.

I usually quit once the snow flies or the roads are damp/freezing. Until then, I'll do short rides down to -5C IF the roads are dry.

Last year we had amazing weather and I did almost 2,000 kms from Oct-Dec and my last road ride was Dec 17th. I even turned down some offers after that and remember friends doing a ride on Dec 24th! I'd be more than happy if I do another 1,000 kms. Losing interest in any long rides so it will be mostly coffee rides of 50-70 kms. Looking forward to doing some hiking.

Nice birthday present!  :) That's a great bike, no doubt. I've read so many good reviews of the TCR version of the bike that I would love to have one myself, too. Too bad only one LBS here carries Giant and their prices aren't anything like you're getting.

Have some friends cycling in Italy and others in Spain. Reading my email while it's 0C in the morning is very depressing.

That polka Colnago is awesome, where do you get white tires?

Choosing a car based on reliability is like choosing a wife based solely because she is punctual. There is more to it than that...

I could never ride a bike like that.  I'd feel like such a poser.  ;D
