Whatever way GM slappies want to spin it, GM has the highest proportion of its fleet end up on a recall list. No other manufacturer is even close. Blaming it on outside suppliers doesn't cut it, since most components are not made on site by any car maker. It did dangerous things is KNEW were dangerous. When I worked for them we replaced the lock cylinder on a daily basis; it was a cash cow, which is why it wasn't recalled.
Of course, this is the (yet again) New and Improved GM (tm), and yes, the old cars were bad but the new ones are the cat's meow! The J car is going to beat the imports back to the ocean! Ooops, that was 30 years ago. A fine GM product would suit anyone-but me. Of course, GM is back its old tricks of being a finance company anyway, flogging its wares to sub-prime customers. You can lease a Cruze 2LT for all of $128 bi-weekly for 36 months, taxes in and the residual is only $10,963. The lease rate is 0%, which is an industry exclusive at least in this class of car.
Note the number of new vehicles on the list.
