Oh geez...after reading your version, now my brain hurts!
Only thoughts...
So my co-workers dog got mauled by his neighbours dog. Funny (not funny - ironic? Alanis says so...), because the other day at coffee he was saying how well trained they are (there's two). No leashes, run beside the guys bike and don't run ahead or stray. German Sheppard breed (though he's not 100% sure). They're going to breed them.
Yesterday at coffee he says he let his dog out, one of those 14 lb dogs that your wife and daughters want because it's just so damn cute (his cat weighs more lol), on its tether, so it could go do its business. Hears commotion and the neighbour had his dogs outside for some exercise or their own evening poop, and because there's no leaves on the bushes yet, one of them spots his dog, bolts through the hedge (We'll call it STEEEVE!!!...ah forget it...
), and proceeds to try to tear it to pieces. Lost an eye, had to rush it to surgery at 11 PM (that's gonna be expensive!
) and who knows what other damage is done.
His wife got a ph call yesterday afternoon from the town, the neighbuors dog has been put down, he owned up to it. Guess he'll also be footing the bill.
I'm a little shocked that they'd have to put that dog down. I mean it's not like it attacked a human. Just because it attacks another animal doesn't mean it's dangerous. My brothers Golden kills rabbits all the time. Does that mean he's no longer trustworthy? Hell no. He lets kittens sleep on him. Just doesn't like rabbits. I put my one dog down because that POS was a threat to humans. I realize there's some anger there on the part of my co-worker and his family, and possibly the other dog owner as well...too late now anyway. Maybe everybody should just get a Goldie...they're born with a hold harmless agreement in their souls.
Huh...turns out the dog was pregnant...too. German/Husky/Wolf cross. Who'da guessed it'd see a small dog and think "FOOD!!".
