The nav system not being fully functional while the car is in motion would be a deal breaker for me.

I also have trouble thinking of a Chrysler product as being a competitor of Porsche, BMW, Lexus etc  :-\

$75k for Jeep!?!...never. If I had $75k for an SUV it will be a Porsche Cayenne S.

pointless vehicle. I respect its power, but this vehicle is an amalgamation of different midsets that should not have seen the light of day in the first place: Sports Car and a Tank. Either get an SUV if you need one - the current crop are plenty powerful - or get a sports car/sedan/wagon if you want to go really fast.
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

I agree.  Yet I have been seeing a few of these on the road more frequently than I expected.  Maybe I'm in the wrong neighbourhood.

They are popular here. The sound is awesome.

Porsche Cayenne S is capable, but it's slower than the SRT-8 by a fair bit, and at $75k the Jeep is loaded, the Cayenne is just getting started. Tick a couple of boxes and you're looking at $90k easy.
On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

I, for one, am delighted such a vehicle exists. I will never have the opportunity to buy one, or even test drive one, but, for some, its attractions and uniqueness (that's important for car guys) are compelling. Power, sound, luxury, AWD capability - it's all there. Mind you, at mid 13's in the quarter, there are many 4s, 5s, 6s, and 8s that can eat it for lunch. Personally, if I needed/wanted performance and uniqueness/looks, I'd save 10 grand and buy a Stingray.

Not my cup of tea, but respect those that are attracted to this car.  I'd be cursing everytime I fill up, which would be frequently.  For $75K and a V8, I would steer towards a C63.

Awesome, if I could, in a heartbeat.....just to make all those yuppies in their X5s, Range Rovers and Cayennes look stupid. Strap on a supercharger and do a little tuning....its sports car bashing time. Then during the week still look like a responsible member of the community dropping the kids off at school. Ive loved this thing since it came out, they sound awesome, look good and can be made to be stupid fast. Great write up Jacob!!
Lighten up Francis.....

Maybe I'm a yuppie, but I'd much rather have the X5, Range Rover, or Cayenne.

Don't get me wrong, I like the fact that Dodge is offering this model.  But why do so many "special edition" domestic vehicles have styling suited for a Michael Bay movie??  Just a little too gaudy IMO.  I'd expect this thing to transform into a giant robot at the first sign of danger.

To me the X5 and Cayenne are so much more gaudier than the SRT8.....I dont know why Ive always thought that about them. Those two "suv" are about as tacky as one can get in buying something in this category. The Range Rover is a great looking vehicle.....Id just rather not buy a car that will be with the dealer than with me.

I don't find this to be any more tasteful or subdued than the GC.
