I actually like the regular sized Panamera, but I just don't get the reasoning behind the LWB version at all... :-\  Chauffeur driven Porsche... ???...don't think so... ::)

^^ What he said.    It is even expensive enough to be a suitably high  status car.

A sporty and cheap alternative to the Rolls Royce, as fast as an S65 AMG Merc, more flashy than an A8L/760iL.....I guess there is a market out there for these things. I dont like the regular length Panamera, to me this is just a case of more to hate  ;D Mechanically speaking, I love the Panamera, the Turbo S is especially a velvet howitzer, but the looks...good lord...hell no.
Lighten up Francis.....

What, an article of LWB Panamera and no side profile picture? You can do better than that.

I'm glad you didn't test drive the special lightweight edition. For a mere $42,000 more, Porsche will delete all the carpeting, heated and cooled seats, and every vestige of civility, thereby saving 42.7kg of ugly excess weight.

Because speed.

Here a niche, there a niche, everywhere a niche niche.

Stay tuned for the coupe version.  :P

such an odd thing... but they'll sell what they make.

just don't understand the point of a car built for an engaging drive... only to be driven by the help. go by a roller coaster if you just want to be a passenger for a fun trip.

The idea, as I understand it, is that a driver is cheaper than a parking space in someplace like Beijing, so you get driven Monday to Friday and then go for a drive yourself whenever else you feel like it.

Seems a bit dumb, as if you had the kind of scratch to buy this car, you could also buy a 911 Turbo for the weekends. I imagine they sell them to Porsche fans who have a collection of classic 911s and also need to be chauffeured around from time to time.

it's in the gallery... but since you asked so nicely:

I think it looks better in LWB form.

Oops, was barking at the wrong tree  :-X Sorry and thanks for the link. What's up with the gallery showing only ten tiny pictures per page, though?

I tend to agree with tpl that the LWB version looks (almost) better than the SWB version. The longer, sloping roofline alleviates the heavy and cumbersome look of rear 3/4 and side profiles.

Don't like the lwb version. Looks artificially stretched.

After seeing the pic of the LWB I think that is the car they should have made first with the SWB as a 'coupe' as it is the humpback look of the SWB, done to give rear seat head room that to my eye makes it look strange. Like a bad Photoshop of itself.

But compared to the old 928 they are both a bit ugly.    imho
