Yeah 7tenths of a second maybe.  That would put the Cayman at 12.1 seconds?  Slower than a smart car? LOL

I’ve always liked the Cayman and its purity of purpose, but I don’t know if I’d have one over a Boxster, especially if it was going to be a secondary "fun" car.

This article reads more like a buyer's guide than a modern classics article.  I think there was a single sentence dedicated to how it drives and nothing about why it should be considered a classic.  The rest was a list of options available over its lifespan.

Love the Cayman.  It's a shame that Porsche never unleashed its full potential for fear of making a more potent car than the 911.

I agree, not a good effort considering the car that was being reviewed. Judging by the pictures was the Cayman even driven?

agreed that the article doesn't necessarily make a case for why the cayman should be considered a modern classic(though i think it is).

also agreed that it is pretty sparse when it comes to driving impression.  but there are loads of those around the net.  is it a requirement for the "modern classic" article?

personally, i would get a boxter(base, S, doesn't matter to me) before cayman.  just like the look of it more.  ;D

Driving thrills makes my wallet lighter.. and therefore makes me faster because i'm shedding weight... :D

Nothing, as far as I can tell, except Caymans, when new, were always priced ~$5-10k higher than equivalently-specced Boxsters.
