With the wife back to work now (was off for maternity leave) using the Odyssey to go to Toronto, she averages around 12L (but she doesn't hit much traffic, there before 7am, home around 8:15pm.  When she drove the Mazda5, she would get around 9.5L.  With gas prices this low, it's not a major difference.

She is not ready for the Mazda6 yet.  Especially since the parking garage at Sick Kids is going through major construction.  In a detour she added a new scrape to the passenger side sliding door.   ::)
Oh wow! That is a lot of hours...kudos to her.

I would work more if I could, but someone has to watch the kids, pickup them up at daycare some days.. Seems like a lot of hours, but it's the same, just over 12 hour shifts, instead of 9-5..

The last tank in the truck was the best in a long while - 20 l/100km.

That was mostly because we took it to Calabogie for a day of skiing last Sunday.  The rest was short trips around town where it barely warms up.  Some tanks have been 30+ l/100km

I was all excited today...was going (did go) to Brandon to the Ag Fair and using the company car - an '08 Accord 4 banger. The single exhaust model, so what, 180ish horsies?  Thought, "awesome! Finally a good long trip to see what this thing actually does."  Drove 103 kmh on the way there, taking all the scenic roads (as much scenery as you can get at 7 AM in the dark...and foggy drizzle...) and 110+/- 1-3 extra on the way home taking the TC as far as needed.  552 km round trip.  Used just over 1/4 tank to get there...and darn near half a tank coming back (was looking like it could go twice on one tank - guess not! Top of tank fat, bottom skinny - muffin top tanks.  :P). Anyway, so I fill up when we get back, do the math and get a dismal 32.5 Imp mpg...which I guess isn't bad, being around 8.5-9l/100...because in perspective it's 3-4l/100 better than my car gets, or 10 Imp mpg better...still, I was hoping for a solid 38.  Guess I should've driven nicer.  :( :-\

Dismal?  At 110KM+ using winter fuel?  I think that's good.

It's only rated at EPA 31MPG BTW...
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

I know...but I was still hoping, like Dorothy clicking her heels...closed my eyes and dreamt (sic?) of seeing a 38...  That's why I noted my awful winter, 'cause I can get (high) 9's in summer with my pig, so this thing probably hits 6's - which is fantastic for a shitbox that it is noisy, not terribly comfortable, kinda zippy...and (really) sips fuel fairly frugally - also, I was driving, nothing I drive gets good mpgs.  I don't even think I drive terribly hard, I just know where the sweet spot is...apparently.

Your Sonic doesn't even get 38 MPG....does it?

In summer, with my kid driving it, he gets in the 6's.  Not if I drive it.  :-[  Maybe when he's back for summer I'll have to try reeeal hard.

I think you're just a crappy driver (for economy purposes)

Cambridge - Tobermory = 7.9 L/100 (Temps went from -10C when I left to -22C when I arrived!)
Tobermory - Cambridge = 7.7 L/100 (Temps around 0C)

Nice to be into the 7's again.

What are you getting in your 6, Solstice2006?

My BWS50 scooter has always been where I expect a two stroke 50cc would be, about 3.8 L/100km all through November and December. What I got in my old 1999 BWs'R. But in January my fuel consumption crept up by 0.1 L/100km and after my third 4+ L/100km tank in a month, I became a coach looking to change things up a bit. Took apart the air filter housing to remove and clean the air filter, and also checked the tire air pressure and found they were severely under inflated.  :o Spec said 29psi cold so that's what I inflated them to.

Last 3 tanks, I've been averaging 3.4 L/100km. What's more, there's a lot more pep too especially in the 30 to 48km/h range and the engine accelerates a lot smoother. I'm going about 2-3 km/h faster on the top end and up to 5km/h faster up hills. So lesson learned, don't starve an already underpowered 50cc of air, and don't make it worse by making it push under inflated tires.

^^ I mentioned it on the last page.  Since I do practically 100% city.  And my work is 5km away, the cold engine light doesn't come off till half-way.  And I don't even try to be efficient, I rev each gear to at least 4000rpm.  Sitting at 9.1L L/100km right now.  Last 3 fill ups have been high 8's, low 9's.

IIRC, my 100% highway trips with cruise at 110km/h was 6.5L/100km (in the winter)

I thought I saw a 9.5 but don't know if that was just your worst case scenario.

That's pretty decent. I've been doing 8.7 L/100km this month in my 3, in milder temperatures. But much like my BWs50, I haven't checked my tire pressure since I put the winter tires on a few months ago.

Yeah 9.5 worse I ever saw.  Probably having a lot of fun, letting it idle a bit to warm up during that rather cold spell we had first two weeks of Jan.  I haven't checked my tire pressure either in both cars, since they put winters on in early December...So only 6 weeks.

I mean I haven't checked my tire pressure since I took them off last spring. ;D

That's excellent though for a mid size sedan.

Just put about 250km highway with the cruise set to 110km/h, brought my average of 9.2 (all city) to 8L/100km.  Did 674km, pumped in 54L.  Onboard computer was right on.  But the range said 0km remaining.  And it's a 60L tank..

Ugh, liberally used the Hilghlanders power and recorded a city-driving tank of 12.5 - a noticeable increase from my last few tanks.  Driving style makes a significant impact - but I just plain ignore that sometimes to the detriment of my wallet.

another cold winter tank for the Tacoma.

a little better than last time at 14.1L / 100km

all back and forth to work which is a mix of city and 80km/h rural roads. (15 minute drive)
a few drives to go biking which is the same type of drive.

not complaining!
I went in with the idea if I can keep it below 15L I'm pretty happy with that.

The cold weather, short trips and constantly hammering the accelerator from each stop have been taking a beating on my efficiency in the past month, around 30kWh/100km.

Over the year I've had the Smart Electric Drive I'm averaging 22kWh/100km.

This is roughly equivalent in efficiency to about 1.5L/100km on the actual gas price over the past year.

The recent low gas prices are making the efficiency more like a 3L/100km gas car, but remember, there isn't any gas car that could get this efficiency (or anywhere close) the way I drive.

My Mercedes SUV has averaged 15L/100km over the past 2000km in the winter, even with more than 2/3 of that on highway.  Very poor efficiency, and with that terrible gas exhaust smell when it's started up.  Oh well, while the wife is happy with it, we are saving for a Tesla...

That's not true.  I got very close to 3L/100km (and sometimes better) with my 2001 Honda Insight Hybrid.  Just saying....

Your Insight would have got 9L/100km the way I drive.  As I noted, my driving style does not lend itself to efficiency...
