Artic give it a rest man, you're imagining stuff, paranoia?

Some of the types here are more paranoid than members of the Church of Scientology. ::)
Since October 2015 the Junior PM has been in office.  Record mega-Billion deficits as he p*sses away our future.  An economy gutted. Stinky POTHEADS rejoice. We are going down the drain.

We have one of the current gen ones in our work fleet, it seems pleasant enough except for seats that hurt my back on long trips.

This looks like a nice upgrade. The big problem GM has from what I understand is not with this car, but that they chopped too much out of the Malibu wheelbase to differentiate it from this one.

This means the Impala is available with all the latest electronic aids like adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation braking, forward collision alert, lane departure warning, side blind zone warning, and rear cross traffic alert. As well, the Impala comes standard with 10 airbags.

Amazing how quickly this stuff has percolated down into everyday vehicles.

Yep, it seems to be happening more and more quickly. Stuff that was only seen in high end cars a couple of years ago is now mainstream.

As to size...is this car larger than the previous generation or is the new Malibu much smaller. In terms of size it seems to make sense...sort of a GM answer to the Taurus. Probably not a big player in Canada but I'll bet they sell well in the US where they still buy full-sized sedans.
Old Jag convertible...one itch I won't have to scratch again.

I agree, more in line with the Taurus and the 300.  You would be surprised how many Impala/Taurus/300 you see in 1 day in rural ontario.  Your typical older farmer car, 10,000km anually, trades every 2-3 years, awesome buy used.
