« on: April 23, 2015, 08:33:59 pm »
This bike goes up against a Nissan that runs 8.8s at 158mph.  And crushes it.  CRUSHES it.  I'd like to know what this bike has had done.  Wow.

Hard to know for sure, but I've run 10.6 on a bone stock 2001 CBR929RR - and I'm crap! So that sort of pace out of a modern bike is within reach.
He had the forks strapped down by the looks of the vid, which helps get the thing to hook up.
Probably has a full exhaust, power commander (or other chip), maybe some new throttle bodies and probably not a lot more. Might have a gearing change too.
Sprockets make rockets.

I'm also thinking some forced induction - and well done.  Chassis is set up well too.  It digs in and goes.  Someone knows what they're doing.

The guy I sold my bike to went to a 'Busa meet and met (hence the term "meet") a guy with quite-stock-appearing (so no drag-length swing-arm, etc) turbo 'Busa with a dyno sheet showing 625whp.  Okay, this is getting completely nuts.  220hp bikes are fast.  300hp bikes are ridiculous.  600+hp?  How can you even use it?

As to the H2 and H2R, all the reports I've read/watched about the street version say that with 220hp, it's fast, but it's the supercharged power delivery that makes it so incredible.  The roll-on or corner exit capability is unlike any other bike.  And I guess the chassis is way better than people thought (there was lots of poo-pooing it thanks to the weight) and it is very, very fast.

The H2R is stupid - and AWESOME.  I understand it's so loud it hurts.

You might be giving him too much credit in that regard. If you watch the video again and stop it exactly at 38 seconds, you can see a white label just above the words "Unknown"  That's for fork straps.  It compresses and lowers the front.  That plus a dogbone in the back means it will scarcely wheely.

I've run the same set-up on numerous bikes and on my ZX9R I could leave the line at almost 10,000RPM and do a 12" wheely if that gives an idea.  And 9.91@139 on a 100% stock bike.

Am I the only person watching the vid and thinking, WTF is he wearing?

Fecking idiot.

Choosing a car based on reliability is like choosing a wife based solely because she is punctual. There is more to it than that...

Bob...the appropriate term in North America for someone riding a sportbike in jeans (or shorts), a t-shirt and sneakers (or flip flops) is a SQUID.
