I wonder if those tow ratings will change, as they are all changing to SAE towing standards.

I also hope the diesel won't be limited to just the top trim.  I think $2500-$3500 is a reasonable engine upgrade for the diesel...Especially since this will be a high volume truck...

GM has real problems with this, but they have to real careful in how they price these trucks  They can't make it much more expensive than the outgoing midsize twins (which probably never sold for MSRP), they can't undercut their full size trucks.  And they have to make sure the diesel is at least $3000 cheaper than the RAM diesel.  The base model diesel should not be more than $40k.

Sounds like a solid offering, hope they don't have a fatal error with pricing.
Lighten up Francis.....

I'm thinking base model diesel should be low $30's.  I'd never consider buying a Canyon if it cost $40K or more for the diesel, I'd just buy a full size truck instead, save a bunch of money and end up spending it on gas.

my guess is pricing will slightly undercut the Taco along the trim lines.

this would likely not impact the bigger truck sales and pretty much stay head to head with Toyota.

What'll also be interesting in the pricing factor is people are used to the domestics having big incentives.  Will they price things high in anticipation of incentives or will they try to go in and get sales without big cuts.

The Crew Cab 4wd (which will be a volume seller) was $35k in the 5 cylinder for the previous generation.  The 3.6L gas may get pricing like that, but I don't suspect the diesel will.  The cheapest RAM diesel MSRP for around $45k.  So $40k would be a sweet spot.  Many don't mind paying similar to a full size truck, as long as they get better fuel economy, easier to load, and drive.
