Oh, and Ron, congrats on your team snagging second WC. Has anyone seen the team formerly known as Baltimore?

This four team WC battle is probably going to go right down to the final weekend.

I think the shift should be banned in baseball.......anyone else agree?

Yup. 2nd baseman shouldn't be allowed past the imaginary center line and neither should the shortstop. I also think the 2nd base slide rule needs to be tweaked in the off-season. I'm a big fan of the countdown clock added this year for manager visits to the mound. They need to add one for teams debating if they want to challenge a play or not.
I don't think it should be ban, the hitter needs to learn on how hit into the gaps

I've been following Boston just as much because of Porcello and Dombrowski at the helm. Have been a big fan of Porcello since he was drafted.

I'm not feeling the Tigers making it....and if they do, One and Done is my prediction.

If I had to put money on it now, I'd go with Toronto and Baltimore for the two wild card spots.  I knew this season was going to go down to the wire, which is why I was saying a quite awhile ago that every game is a big one.

It wasn't hard to to tell back in July/August that this division was gonna come down to the wire.

Exactly!!  Which is why the first game of the season can mean as much as the last game of the season (potentially).    :rofl2:

I still like their chances for the WC. If they can keep within a game after this series is over, Baltimore travels to New York for the weekend while Detroit gets Atlanta. As a Jays fan, what would be great is a tie between Detroit and Baltimore forcing a game 163 and burning out the ace pitchers for the wild card game.

Geez..just watched 2 choke jobs...TO losing in the 9th, then Boston doing the same.

Though I'm sure Boston isn't too upset..with the TO loss, they clinch the division.

Yeah, been a lot of 9th inning dramatics in the past two weeks or so. Regardless who makes it, it's going to be an exciting post season. Teams all seem very evenly matched.

Am glad the Tigers are out of their misery. Was painful baseball to watch this year.

Am happy for Porcello and Boston....hoping they go far in the off-season!

Was a great game last night and was totally stoked to see the Jays take 2 of 3 in Boston and get the top wild card spot.  Should be a great game tomorrow night and hopefully the Jays can pull out a win.  A Jays-Texas series I think would be quite entertaining given what happened last year.

On a side note, it kinda p!ssed me off how the Jays celebrated last night.  You'd think that they just won the world series for F sake.  Jeez, they just won the ability to play one more game, that's it.   ::)

I got the sense that Boston didn't really care if they won or not (because it didn't matter).

And yea, was listening to the Jays fans today talking about how this was a "great" year this year.  And I was like "Really?".  IMO, the Jays didn't play all that great this year.  Pretty much on par with what the Tigers did..and I though the Tigers played like dog :censor:.

Well, I certainly wouldn't say the Jays played like dog sh!t this year.  September I would agree, but overall definitely not.  The only won 4 fewer games this year compared to last year.  The BIG difference is how close the AL East was this year compared to last.

No..just not very good or consistent.  Maybe if I'm being generous, I'd say an "ok" season.  But apparently I'm wrong because the local slaps think it was a "great" year.   ???
