...here I was thinking that Kia made the Sorrento, after the city of the same name in Italy on the Amalfi coast.

...but Soronto kinda sounds like "South Toronto".

As far as the styling goes, I like the front MUCH better, but think that the tail lights are too busy.  I prefer these:

Prolly a new Durango in front...
Overall seems to be a bit understated, which could be a good thing in this segment. Definitely l see less minivan in the side profile than in the current model. I hope they'll keep a V6.

The culprit is the mandatory visibility reduction factor that designers have to apply during a redesign. Airy greenhouses are so '80s.

Actually, looking at a current gen Sorento, this is just an evolution of that design. The rear quarter panel for example looks unchanged. I don't see how this is a Highlander ripoff. I'd argue that everything looks the same these days.

Yup, the XC60 resemblance is the only one that pops out in my mind.

I don't like it much. The Sorento had its own "personality" (2011-2013 being the best years IMO). This is way too generic, more minivan like, and will compete even more with the Santa Fe...
