Quote
A machine on an assembly line grabbed a worker and thrust him against a metal slab, causing lethal injuries.

Between the lines "machines are awakening and may one day come after us all". Anyone else getting that spin from this article? I am sure its not the fist and likely will not be the last industrial screw up that leads to tragic loss of life.

Hmmm....seems like he should have been at a safe distance while making programming changes.

It seems to me that in this case the sentient creature walked straight into their own death while the machines merely followed their programming.
You can't just have your characters announce how they feel.
That makes me feel angry!

Exactly.

"Ah. There's the problem. Rung 1056 has a crush/kill/destroy command."

One worker I know of went through an OSB press because he didn't follow the correct lockout/tagout procedure before clearing an optical switch on a conveyor belt. A wood chip had blocked it and shut the line down. Instead of making everything safe and informing the line operator of the issue, he bypassed two safety systems and hopped on the belt. As soon as the chip was removed the line started up.
On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.
