Forgive the low resolution, my blackberry automatically scales images when sending then via email (like I just did to download the pic for posting).

Tesla at Ontario Science Center - with air suspension on high (to avoid scratching car on the curb at the back).

Almost 2400km in the first week of ownership.
Check out the efficiency!
The Tesla is more efficient driving at highway speeds than my Smart Electric car is in the city!

Arrived back home from road trip with a little energy to spare, but that is the whole point, the car is so good at estimating range during the charging that when the navigation knows what your next destination is, the car tells you "charging complete for destination" and you unplug and drive!

All but 400km of that road trip was covered by the Tesla Supercharger network, for which access to the chargers, and the electricity provided is included with the price of the car.  The first ~ 400 km was provided by fully charging overnight before we left from home.

The performance of the standard Tesla Model S85 is superb.  Clearly superior to any performance or luxury car I've ever owned or driven in.

The superchargers added 400km of range for each of the two meals we ate during the day, and another 250km for two other charges which took less than 30 minutes.

We booked our hotel using the Tesla built in web browser and 3g cellular networking which is also provided with the car for 7 years.

Brilliant vehicle.  Stunning.

Here is another screen, this one shows the trip consumption chart that is dynamically updated as you travel from starting location to destination.

This one showed the trip leg from our last supercharger to arriving at home, a distance of over 200km.  The estimation includes temperature (hot or cold affect battery efficiency and range),  weather (rain reduces efficiency of any vehicle travelling at highway speeds), and hills (dropping is better, climbing uses more energy).  Note how linear the chart is, whereas there were 4 different major highways, with 3 very different tarmac types, and wind directions.  The car pre-computed that we would arrive with 14% battery, but we arrived with 7%, as I was able to feel comfortable enough to use some extra energy knowing we have a buffer of 50km (which I used up enjoying the last leg of the trip). ;-)

Congrats SE, This is the car of the future! Your the first one here with a Tesla.   :winner: Is it a CPO or a brand new one? I'm looking at the CPO's and the S70D on Tesla web site and boy is this tempting! Congrats again! Can't see the pics either..    :ttiwwp:

Congrats again sir!   :bow2: :bounce:

Would your nickname to become "the" Smart Electric's guy now?

I'm not 100% familiar with the Tesla nomenclature but, does it have the winter package too?

ps: no pictures visible yet

Is it a CPO or a brand new one?

I bought through the CPO program, took 3 weeks from deposit to delivery.

Tesla replaced wheels, brakes and charge connector and fully detailed vehicle in as-new condition. The battery has no degradation that I can tell, and the supercharging was very rapid.

Very pleased with the car.

The seats are excellent, I've heard of complaints on other forums, but for us, they are great, and no discomfort after 10+ hours in the car in a single day.

The High Fidelity sound system is really something, it goes to 11  8)  You press a button on the steering wheel and say something like "play ambient" and there are dozens of ambient internet music stations listed, pick one and listen.

The voice command accuracy is quite something, you say "navigate to <destination city name>", and it maps out the entire trip with supercharger stops, and outlines the charging time at each station, and the total time to arrive including charging, f'real!  If you just want to go to a local business, navigation does that too, but obviously without charging needed.   :P

No.  But the car does pre-heat with the phone app, and it learns your schedule and offers automatic pre-conditioning.

It will be a brilliant winter car no doubt, the test drive we did in November 2014 was in a major snow storm, the car still had summer 21" performance tires, and the traction control was excellent, there was no way to spin the car out, it just moved and stopped more slowly than it would have with proper winter tires.

And yes, I've already done some investigation into proper winter tires, but haven't decided on anything yet.

I'm 110% happy with X-Ice 3. They are actually quieter than the all season Michelins the car came with. So would be good choice unless you decide on performance winters.

FYI, prepare to buy lots of tires.  I know a few owners and they go through tires like crazy.
