Despite being surprisingly "supple" on the highway, the Honda CR-Z shines in city driving.

Still gotta drive one of these. I even like the looks, even if it seems a bit big.

wait for the 2013 model... hopefully the newly revealed 2013 CR-Z will come here as it has the power rises from 122 hp to 135, and peak torque from 123 lb-ft to 140.

What ever happened to the turbo model that was rumoured shortly after the launch?

Mike, maybe I missed it in your review, but is the visibility out of the CR-Z as bad as it appears from the pictures?  With that brace in the hatch and the tiny glass between B & C pillars, I can't imagine you can see much behind you.  Or is it not that bad?

I highly doubt we will get new CR-Z, I have seen many Velosters (which has been out for a shorter amount of time), a few Scion iQ, Spark is too new to compare.  But at $23,000 who the heck is going to buy this micro machine?  The Scion is a 4 seater (more or less) and it's $18,500, yes it has less hp, but it's 500lb lighter! the combined gas mileage is less than 1.0L differance, a hybrid is not needed in this segment!  Keep the CR-Z, lose the hybrid powertrain, and copy Hyundai for once, instead of vice-versa....

The middle brace doesn't affect rearward visibility too badly, but the massive pillars do block over the shoulder rear 3/4 visibility.  However, like in my Miata with the top up, the car is so small, nothing can really hide in that blindspot.  Setting up the side mirror properly, and looking out the rear window and side window and everything is fine.

If the Civic Si engine and LSD was offered in the CR-Z, I think it would have sold a lot more.

Leg room, especially where my right leg rests against the centre console, was uncomfortable. The centre console’s edge protruded at a sharp angle inward towards the leg.

I had the same problem with my wife's 2005 Mazda 3.  You would think this could be easily be avoided during design.
Don't fight it.  The sooner you get it the better.

:iagree:

I like the looks of this car a lot, but at the price it doesn't make a lot of sense. Either make it cheaper and give it a conventional driveline (the 1.5L engine from the Fit would work well here, I'd think), or give it the power to match it's looks. The hybrid driveline seems like an odd choice here...

I don't need extra power. I just need 2 other seats like other market has. I may only use few times over the years, but still better just a storage. Or whenever I want to penalize my second/third passenger.

Is this what is referred to as a mild hybrid?

I totally forgot that Honda still makes this.  I still haven't seen one on the roads yet.

Now that you mention it, I honestly dont remember ever seeing one of these on the road. Whoever said stick the Civic Si motor and an LSD into was right, remake of the CRX would be amazing.
Lighten up Francis.....

No wonder I haven't seen on yet, they've barely sold 1000 of them Canada wide since they were introduced in 2010.

I have not seen any around here either. I thought Honda stopped making them. :(
