Kinda funny how half the pictures in this article show a pre-2007 Wrangler TJ, including the title shot. I can understand it though since the TJ is a much better looking Wrangler :rofl2:

I think a large contributor to the "death wobble" are the oversized rims/tires that are standard issue on this series. Too much rotating mass for the suspension to handle under certain conditions once the suspension components have experienced a bit of wear (play).

Easily fixed with aftermarket balljoints and track bar and a good set of Timken hub bearings . Death wobble is only a problem on rigs that are improperly lifted or not maintained. The first things that someone should invest in upon buying one of these are the Daystar hood latches, they are poly and much more secure than stock, and some inserts for the grille, the large openings mean your a/c condenser and/or rad get absolutely destroyed by road debris. The wifes has about 180K km on it and besides regular maintenance its been pretty good.
Lighten up Francis.....

Yeah, what's with all the pics of the TJ's?  There was at least 3 different TJ's, including the title picture...

That's like writing an article on the Kia Optima and having pictures of the old Magentis!

agree on the tj comments....

that time of year where i consider a new wrangler again... just have to convince the wife... trying to sway her into my thinking that a hard top is not needed and a/c is for pansies... if that works, i've got a nice willy's on the lot to take home....

we get people in here constantly all wanting a year or two old jeep and think they will scoop it up for 50% of new cost... these have won the blackbook retained value award 4 years running... you save like 3 grand getting a used one.. and that's a daily rental.

whaddya think?

i like the black wheels...i've also seen a couple of "Arctic" edition ones (in white, of course) and think they look great too.

have you seen any of the Call of Duty ones?

yeah, i have one customer with the call of duty one... he's this tank of a 60 year old... fits the thing so well.

and yeah, i'd love the 10th anniversary ones, but the price is a wee bit different. oh, and they still have the tenth ann. ones, but obviously not called that anymore... now it's the rubicon "X" package or something... makes sense... x=10.

current employee deal is pretty spectacular on that willy's on my lot... no customers want it due to the lack of ac and hard top, so it's pretty sweet for me... just have to make the wife want it...

Yeah, I doubt that 95% of these things ever see anything worse than the occasional gravel road.  Which is unfortunate.  It's not really any incentive for JEEP to keep the upcoming Wrangler as capable as it currently is...

Lots of pictures of the Jeep Wrangler doing what it does best, off roading, but none showing where it usually ends up at, the mall.
Still lots of people buying them for their off road capability, including commentators on this thread, but truth is they’ve become a fashion accessory.
Not only for soccer moms but guys who want the look of a tough, go anywhere 4x4, deep treaded 33” tires etc , but no intention of actually using it off road.
Body on frame, transfer case, 4 high / low, what’s that?. Who cares, it’s all about the image.
And Fiatlsler knows this judging from the commercials and the creature comforts, kinda sad to see this vehicle so emasculated.

That Willys is awesome. Was tempted to order one but then common sense prevailed.

yeah.. i've been working it out... if i sell the 'rola privately, and do a courtesy trade, i could probably drive this thing a year and still get out of it what i have in without putting anything down....

damn tempting...
