Me too. The only thing missing would be those rear window slats that made it look so appealing. It's tempting to want to retire and just have one car - THIS ONE. Sigh..

For some reason, I find the BOSS 302 infinitely more appealing than the Shelby GT500.

Having driven both, I can attest that it's also infinitely more useful. The Shelby is entertaining, but you literally can't get the power down below 4th gear!

Yup, and they both sound just as good as each other too.  I love the Boss

Either way, someone will have a conversion for the live rear axle. I believe Saleen or the likes offered a independent rear axle kit.

...including Ford. Spy pics of 2014 mules show an IRS setup in the rear. What's not know if this is for all trims / versions.

This would be my pic over the Shelby, not because I find 660+ horses useless, I love the look of the Boss better and I like the fact its main mission was handling. They had the M3 as their target car and they beat it.

Once again, not a fan of Mustangs at all - bad association is all really - but even I can get over it for this car. Just a really nice job on this car - off the top of my head has to be one of the best performance bargains on the planet right now.

If we had any curved roads at all in southern Manitoba this would be near the top of my weekend car list. But, another thread discusses modifying the regular 5.0GT with go-fast parts which I find very appealing. Could I build a sleeper-looking 5.0GT to run quicker/sound better than a stock Boss for 50k? My money would go to hp and acceleration versus handling because a GT can handle better than I can...and our roads are straight.

I would take it to our regional drag strip in Gimli for some weekend tom-foolery.

Great looking car and a lot of straight line performance...however I can't erase from my memory the last time I drove a Mustang and was exposed to that "mid-corner bump" issue. It really does get your heart in your throat if you're moving at all. I'd say enjoy it at the drag strip, if you take this out for a thrashing on a twisty road that's not smooth, you'll have some stories to tell!

Back when I was a kid I remember buying a R&T magazine with the new 302 Mustang GT on the cover (prob late 70's/early 80's) and I remember the 302 had about 175 hp.  Nice to see progress like that! Though thinking back, the negative comments about the car seem familiar...not for me but good to see things with character.

Having all the "bells and whistles" (ie. stripes, spoilers, etc.) is nice....I'm a meat and patatoes guy, a Joe Friday "just the facts" driver. That is why always liked the Bullitt Mustang when it was out. The ultimate "bang for your buck" 'stang.
Do wish they would bring it back....BUT if they don't...well...suppose I could learn to love this "evil" twin.
Oh yea....no maybe's about it.

i agree, the Boss 302 is so appealing...even though it is a little pricier than the already solid GT, it still has that allure to it.

i mean, how can you listen to this and NOT want to buy it?
