If it was my DD then Suburban FTW but its for the mrs. but the traverse or SFXL seem like solid options,
Honestly, the Traverse is a really good vehicle for what it purports to be.  There's a lot of interior space for passengers (we had one in Palm Springs one year as a rental and really enjoyed its flexibility).

Really if you want something with room for the kids and dog just get a minivan
The Toyota & Honda van looks better then most CUVs

If you like the Flex, but not the styling, the Explorer is essentially the same vehicle, but with conventional styling and less length.

I dont how I forgot about the explorer!... Thank you sir.
