Is it just me or does 201 hp in this little hatch seem like a fair amount of power?
Maybe TPL should go look at this hatch? ;)

Do you realize that in about 30 (updated as requested) years, we'll have millions of old ladies running around with tattoos?

The Veloster Turbo had serious steering and some suspension issues making it not the sporty performance hatch I was hoping for.  If the Forte 5 has the Elantra GT rear suspension, and adjustable steering, it won't be perfect, but should be a great sporty bargain

Hyundai needs a racing program and feed that experience into the consumer cars.

Kia has one.  Hope they spilled some of the knowledge into this car.

Fack I like what Kia is doing with nice simple (even sexy?) design. I appreciate their restraint...the opposite right now is Ford with all their busy little details and convolutions inside and out. Kia design is starting to run away from Hyundai too.

The recent exception is that stupid stupid concept CUV thing posted elsewhere.

I really, really like this thing, makes most other FWD hatchbacks look lame and old. 200 horse turbo, a proper manual gearbox and fantastic looks, GO KIA!!! Man, I really liked the old, this new turbo one is facking tempting.
Lighten up Francis.....

That's a sweet looking little hatch!  I wish that this was available when my wife was looking last year!

It's got all of TPL's wish list too!

Additionally, both EX and SX trim levels offer optional HID headlights, navigation system with HD Radio™, sunroof, heated steering wheel,10-way adjustable power driver’s seat, heated front seats and cooled driver’s seat, heated rear outboard seats, leather seating surfaces, SmartKey with push-button start, electric chromatic rearview mirror and dual-zone automatic climate control.

Hyundai needs a racing program and feed that experience into the consumer cars.

+1 - If they are racing I've never heard of the series. They need to get into ALMS or Grand-Am or better yet wait till next year when they slam them together! They NEED to get that Genesis coupe on the track and start developing a cult following.
My other Honda is an MP4-31!

The bigger surprise was 173 HP from the naturally aspirated 2.0L.

Is it a multilink suspension or just their generic Corolla suspension?

They have the Forte Koup in the Street Tuner class of the Grand-Am Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge. According to the internets......

Pretty well exactly what I asked for when I saw the Elantra GT. I said if they would put the Turbo in it I'd want one.
If the Elentra GT type suspension has fixed the handling and they fix their steering feel issues  its going to be really tempting.

Any guess on price? Elantra GT SE Auto (no stick on the SE) starts at just over 24
Maybe the Turbo with the stick starts there around 24 and around 26 with the sunroof package?

Well dammit I don't see it on any Grand Am TV re-runs! :)
