The warrant is still there. I'd keep it for awhile and enjoy it

That's because his car seems reliable to you.

True enough, and those are great tires for blasting through the snow!

So maybe I've drunk the koolaid but there is just something about the feel of a high end German car that can excuse a lot of reliability issues. The Japanese stuff just looks and feels so bland in comparison.

There's no question you've drunk the koolaid with your tolerance of unacceptable quality with your FGC

Where's the manual gearbox I can get with a 335i/A4/S4?

Wow, I just came across this thread and have read all 24 pages now.  :o ;D

Sorry to hear Hammy. I really enjoyed our 335i, and a couple of years ago, a friend of mine bought a 2011 used one and hasn't had any problems to date... So I thought maybe the turbo issues had subsided.

Coming from a 335i, maybe you should go to the Mustang 5.0  I really like the one evil twin posted...

I think the GTI is a really nice choice too. I'm biased, but it's very practical and fuel efficient. Yes, it's less powerful but it's got a nice motor for its weight, and is lighter, tossable and fun in that way. Although it's an FGC and turbo car... I don't know about the reliability of the new Mustang EDIT or the new GTI. But as long as it's average, I'd buy that.

Anyways, enjoy the repaired 335 and have fun new car shopping...

So yesterday I hit the highway onramp on my way to work, hit the gas to pass a car and it just felt like all the wind came out of the bmws sails, that's literally what it felt like.  Engine lights galore came on and I limped off the side of the highway.  I turned the car off and back on again and managed to nurse it to the local BMW dealership where it sits waiting for diagnosis.  It drove well on the way to the dealership but something is just not right power wise.

My guess is HPFP or injectors.

I would go with one of the injectors is gone also, had that happen once

Hammy! I am sorry to hear about it...your experience with BMW is very similar to the one I had. Such a beautiful vehicle, but...

I'd try something non-German when you make the call...
