I wash monthly if the weather cooperates. Wax 2x a year. Always trying to reduce water usage/environmental considerations.

Inside I clean more often though; vacuuming up the seams in the seats, cargo area, leather treatment.

I also refuse to use automated car wash stations.

Changed over to summer wheels / tires...now it needs a thorough cleaning, inside and out.

How are your Summer wheels dirty already?  Surely you clean them before putting them away?

I also did the changeover last night, cleaned my Winters before storing them.

The circumstances were not ideal when I changed over to winters. Basically it was late November, the day after a snow storm. I was pi$$ed at myself for not swapping earlier. The day of the storm I literally got stuck on the side of the road for over an hour because the car wouldn't go anywere >:(

Needless to say the last thing I wanted to be doing is cleaning these wheels...
I love it when a plan comes together.

I wash the 'Rolla frequently :)  That beaut's gotta shine for you laddies!

...but I more frequently clean the inside of the windows and reapply RainX every 4ish months.  I fricken love that stuff, especially on the side/rear windows.

Purchased two new rear tires for the S2000 with hopes I can actually drive it in May.

Heard an odd rumble from the front end of the GTI around some slow corners today. I'm thinking wheel bearings, but it's kind of early (only 90,000kms on it). Or hopefully it was just the winter tread being noisy on the bare pavement.

Should soon be time to take off the winter rubber, so guess I'll give the wheels a yank while it's jacked up and hope I get lucky.  :-\

A bad wheel bearing should be apparent all the time, not just while turning.

^^ I dunno. It was just a low grumbling rumble noise that instantly said "wheel bearing" to me. Didn't give it much thought beyond that. Will pay more attention tomorrow and probably swap the tires & take a closer look on the weekend.

Wheel bearings usually moan the whole time though..not just when turning.  Unless this is a VW thing.   ;D

On our CRV that happens in the back with the differential, a fluid change fixes it.

Last weekend .... summers on to both daily drivers. Both now using Michelin Pilot A/S 3+ - massive improvement on the 9-2x over the (worn) General all seasons it had last year.

And... retrieved the TR6 from storage, and discovered a slight coolant leak from the heater area. So replaced the control valve and all the top hoses, plus put on a nice new shiny wing mirror and rear view mirror, new gear shift knob, coolant bottle.

This weekends plan: replace very old 2 point lap belts with 3 pt retractable seat belts, replace broken fuel tank sender unit, maybe start swapping my nicely refinished gauges over if I get chance.

Pics to follow when I get chance...

^Nice, can't wait for the pics.
Those heater control valves are terrible, can't even recall how many of those I've replaced.

Charged up the battery on the 95 legacy wagon and got it out of storage from my FIL's garage.  First drive for it in 6 months.  Debated if I should have kept the car or dumped it when I leased the V60.  Glad I kept it ..    it's a real beater but mechanically sound and I still like it a lot, and it will be a good car for the kid to learn on this summer

Just my every 1000 km check of oil on both cars.  Neither the Fit nor the Q5 use any oil at all.   The Fit oil ( 0w-20 synthetic Honda ) was last changed last August , 6000 km ago...still looks clean as if it was straight from the bottle. The Audi oil (5w-40 synthetic Castrol) was changed in October  7000 km ago and is quite black.  Interesting especially as both engines are new (11600 and 15007 km respectively).  For those who are wincing about the time between changes, the Fit will be done in August and the Audi in about 1000 kms although it would not be scheduled for another 10,000 kms or May 2016 whichever would be sooner...I dislike these long service intervals.   The Fit has what is claimed to be an oil life monitor  which ticks down 10% every 1250 kms.  My 2003 BMW had one which was computed on the amount of gas that went through the engine which didn't seem a bad way to do it.

Washed the Wrangler and used some Black Wow on the black plastic trim pieces (door mirrors, front/rear fenders). Looks like the Wrangler will need some Iron X too, however it is nowhere near as bad as the GLI. Looks like the ferrous material is even on the soft top's plastic windows.
