The Ridgeline is lighter.   And I'm a truck guy,  I expected this to be a mini Sierra.    Very disappointed it's not close.

But hey if you need a mini truck,  it's probably one of the better ones.
according to what i've found, the Honda Ridgeline Touring weighs in at 4577 lbs...the Z71 Colorado Crew Cab is 4511 pounds...the Honda is not lighter (they are basically the same weight).

from most reviews, it takes many good things from the Sierra/Silverado but packages in a smaller size with a smaller price with a more refined ride than its competitors...it won Motor Trend's Truck of the Year and was also MotoringTV's truck of the year too (plus, Cars.com and a few others).

i'm not saying its without faults, but this truck has been pretty well praised which is why some of the comments mentioned really stick out (since i've read so much about it).
When you've lost the argument, admit defeat and hit the smite button.

CEL light on a 6k vehicle is certain a warning of trouble ahead....!

Yeah so are 6 recalls on a vehicle (Ford Escape) in less than 18 months!

Huh? What's the relationship? Did you drink too much tonight? Lol

anyone see that TV commercial where they have ppl comment on a guy standing in front of a sedan and then standing in front of a Colorado? They ask the group about who is cooler/sexier/more manly, etc..

The wrong message IMO...not subtle or sophisticated.

Well it seems your saying that a CEL is sure way of saying these trucks will be unreliable.  It's not like the bad launch the Ford Escape had.

in the article, James mentions:

although it isn’t priced that much less than its larger brother.

i said upthread, it is when comparably equipped.

a Colorado Z71 Crew Cab with NAV and Bose sound is $38,661 (includes a credit of $664)...a comparably equipped Silverado would be the Silverado LT 2LT Crew Cab, with leather seats, True North package, V8 engine and NAV/Bose...the Silverado is $45,680 (includes a credit of $6385)...as i said before, i like the Silverado, but the difference in price is $7020, or just under $8k with tax...and that is ONLY because there is $6385 on the hood of the Silverado right now...perhaps in a few months, the credits on the Colorado will increase, which would widen the gap further...in any case, $8k is not "almost the same price" and i do wish the comparisons with full size trucks would stop...compare the Colorado with the Frontier and Tacoma, as that is what it was made to compete against (perhaps even the Ridgeline a little).

No, not subtle or sophisticated,  but if they were actually real people's opinions,  not wrong.

Considering  the tight interior the shifter should really be on the steering column. Why do manufactures insist on putting auto shifters on the console beside the cup holders. A disaster waiting to happen. I guess they feel it is sporty.?

Disaster waiting to happen?  If it is such a design flaw, I think many people would be complaining, and a change would have been made.  Would rather have it on the console, then on the steering column, or the stupid dial like the RAM...

Agreed. Ridgeline is a good example of a column shifter enabling an innovative console design.

The shifter on the console is a fashion thing, 'cause as everyone knows, Yurp does is better. :P ;D

As almost all transmissions are electronically controlled now, there's no reason why they can't be controlled by buttons, knobs, toggle switches, flappy paddles, or levers on the dash or steering column.
On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

Don't mind the gear shifter on the console, as long as it is a MECHANICAL shifter, not push buttons, dial, video game joy-stick, leave those on a Play Station Gaming System.

Knowing GM, eventually they will price this truck with huge discount, once the initial demand and interest fall off. There is significant margins on trucks still, GM will still want to push for volume.

Actual question: does this truck come with a push-to-start button?

IIRC some of the console shifters are just electronic interfaces, no mechanical linkages as such.
