Kei truck 4X4
« on: July 25, 2016, 04:23:46 pm »
I'm thinking of purchasing a Kei 4X4 truck for my going to work vehicle. I live in northeastern Ontario where the roads are rough, does anyone think that this is a good decision, or should I shop around for something that would have an easier ability in finding parts.....thanks

How rough are these roads?? Do you have to travel on any highways?? These are great replacements for an around a farm/acreage vehicle instead a of sidexside or quad, but to do any kind of distances on a daily basis, I don't know man. Wouldn't a small pickup, Ranger/Tacoma/Frontier, with a decent set of shocks, springs and some beefier tires be a much better allrounder??
Lighten up Francis.....

Thanks for the replies, I drive about eighteen miles one way, ten highway miles and the rest paved private road. Have been researching Ranger, Frontier, and Tacoma 4X4s, and have decided to go this route, because of parts/service availability. I will post when I find what I am looking for.

That 660 cc engine will be screaming on the highway, think 4-5000 rpm. I think I'd look for a little Ford Ranger instead. Not much bigger, and a whole lot easier to live with.

I would definitely look at the small truck option instead of a kei truck. I drove a honda kei truck for a few days for work. These things were really designed for short people to drive. I'm only 5'6" and using the clutch was a bit awkward even for me. My co-worker who is 5'10", forget about it.
