Nice car, ridiculous stance.

Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

The LR won't substitute for my truck, sooo, you're right, I can't keep it.  I have a feeling my wife would love the LR4 though.

She said to me the other night, "how long have we had the V, three years?".  She was quite disappointed when I told her its only been two.  Its been a great vehicle, just, umm, boring.  She loved our Pilot far more.  I wanted to keep it for at least 4 years, so another two to go.  It may go sooner.

On street tires in imperfect conditions?  My money is still on the AWD Tesla.

W123 300Ds might be very, very old now, but if you have a good example, they're still good cars.  When they were new, they were arguably the finest car produced.  The OM617 diesel is ridiculously durable, overbuilt like mad - bottom ends last literally forever if cared for.  There's a few around here still unopened closing in on a million kms.

Wagons are desirable - but the self leveling suspension is a PITA.  My 190E 2.3-16 had it, and I finally cried "uncle" and replaced it.  There's lots of folks that will cry that you've ruined the car then, but they're wrong.  I used a high quality conversion kit and the car went right to the track and kicked butt.

My parents' friend and former neighbor bought one new in the early 80's and still own it today.  He is a retired surgeon and took the car to Florida where he and the Mrs live in the winter and use the 300 as a daily driver while there.  I've been in it a couple of times and it has a vault-like feel to it for sure.  Cool car.   I like the classic upright profile.
