Do the reviewers get together after a Test Fest at a conference or forum to debrief and share their perspectives on how the evaluation was conducted?

not after, but throughout testfest, we are constantly huddling and comparing notes, and exchanging differences of opinions on various cars and the process of evaluating them. there are also highly visible, yellow-jacket-wearing CCOTY TestFest Directors, who are available and i, at least filled their ears with suggestions about possible 'improvements' to the system.

Mike and I at least share office space and have a chance to discuss these things, and we also get a chance to adopt any good methodologies for our Comparison Tests, or can develpp our own in the hopes that we can help improve the TestFest procedures.
Do I contradict myself?
Very well then I contradict myself,

What's the underlying reason for this testfest? Was it started because someone thought it would be valuable to readers? Was it set up as an "event" for AJAC writers? Or is it meant to be an AJAC promotional idea?

I ask because other than on this site I don't remember ever hearing about it.

The ads for the award winners do prominently show-off their AJAC award status.

I don't pay attention to that kind of junk in ads.  ;)

I pay attention to advertising claims - the I google it - it usually ends up as a negative for the advertiser.

Remember when Lee Iococca said that some Dodge/Chrysler had a higher residual value than GM? Then GM came back with a rebuttal?

I read the fine print for the name of the company doing the valuation and in one case Dodge beat GM and in another case GM beat Dodge.

But in both cases - both Dodge and GM were at the very bottom (worst) of all brands.

There's always a trick in the ads - I like to find them.
