Agreed, I think it looks really good.  Better than the Tacoma and the GM twins, and light years ahead of the old RL.  The back seat looks to be really big, compared to the other midsize trucks.  Hard to judge the overall size though - I wonder if it will be closer to the GM midsizers, or still smallish like the current RL?  Needs smaller rims IMO, those tires are too low profile for a truck!

I wonder if Honda will continue with the under-bed trunk?

I agree, absolutely zero reason for a truck to have a smaller sidewall ratio than a 65.

I don't like exercises like this.  Now these pics will be floating around the internet with people claiming this is the next gen RL.  Especially the interior shots where they took photos directly from the new Pilot.  Anyway, not a fan of the looks, looks too soft, but all they really did was take the back off the pilot. The actual sketch from Honda gives me some hope.  Hopefully the real deal is a little more macho.

Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

Just someone's interpretation and guess drawing. The push button transmission is a turn off for me, in any car; bed is rather short to have any type utility.

Push button are OK, but should be on the dash

personal preference for me. I want a mechanical lever/shifter, no buttons, or the likes video game joy sticks as a transmission changer.

... and ... a manual switch for 4x2 / 4x4, an addition of an AUTO switch is fine. Truck should have full time RWD, and the driver can engage in 4WD when the condition calls for it.

The lever proved too hard to operate/difficult to understand for some people.....

Where else have we seen a push button interface almost identical to that?

Oh Ya, the TLX and the Chrysler 200 with the 9-speed transmission.

Just Sayin'.

200 is a big round dial....

meh... the ridgeline was a non-truck... not saying that in a bad way at all. it was an alternative with some capabilities similar to a truck without all it's drawbacks... this looks like a midsized pickup... nothing special.

hopefully the real thing is a little more groundbreaking... for better or worse.

That looks like a photoshop effort by someone without design training.

Either this illustrator (my bet) is incompetent or Honda's design team is.

I liked the chiseled look of the current Ridgeline, it works well. The same can't be said for the Pilot IMO.

I like the current gen Pilot more and more as time goes on.  So much so that I found myself groping one at the dealer today.

Right you are (of course you are).  similar to the Acura implementation, anyway.  Makes sense that if Honda is using their 6-Cyl, they'll mate it to the same 9-speed transmission.

true..
some people don't need all the proper stuff.  LOL

I just find it interesting a lot of folks here LOVE the Helux - so a negative reaction on the RL is interesting (design speaking)
