Hi guys,

Today we (authorized Opti-Coat Pro installers) received an email from Optimum (OPT) .......

"OPTIMUM PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS ANNOUNCEMENT

Effective with this communication, there are major improvements to the Optimum product line and the Professional Program.

Opti-Coat 2.0 is being discontinued immediately and will be replaced with a hybrid consumer product with up to 2 years durability, Gloss Coat. Gloss Coat will be priced $59.99 for 10 mls.

Opti-Coat Pro will only be sold in the 10 ml Warranty Package and that warranty will be 5 years. The Lifetime Warranty and 40 ml syringe are discontinued. The 10 ml syringe is enough product for 1 vehicle and installers should use an entire package for each application, going over areas of heavy impact such as the hood with a second coat if there is product left. Every Opti-Coat Pro sale will carry the 5 year Warranty for any vehicle less than 5 model year old......"

Price per application has also tripled. In short, if you were thinking of Opti-Coating (2.0 or Pro) your vehicle do it now before the price increase (it may be a bit late though).

Lifetime Warranty discontinued.  I guess the product wasn't that great afterall?  At least not enough to offer such a warranty?

Warranty option was not available in Canada anyway until now. And it doesn't mean the product is/was not "great." I think OPT dropped the lifetime warranty b/c people don't maintain their coated cars and insurance costs. Besides, who needs a lifetime warranty From what I'm seeing people who get their cars coated tend to keep them for 4-5 years.
