If you buy a GT-R, promise Peter Bleakney you'll use it for what it was built for.

I am just a sucker for Japanese Sports cars. This is definitely on my shopping list for my next toy. I'm still tuning my STI for sub 12 sec 1/4 mile but it will never be as damn sexy as the GT-R.

Will consider this for a mid-life crisis/attempt to recapture my youth! There's something to be said about a car that's raw - something good! Most of the newest luxury cars are losing the connected feeling.

Kickass ride.  I think that for a personal vehicle, I'd probably get as much fun or more on the street out of a manual transmission 370Z.  But I'd sure like to test that theory.

Just perusing the specs and noted a $300 surcharge for the metallic pearl paint.  I know Nissan isn't alone here, but when you're sking over $100k for any car, it seems pretty bush-league to me to nickle and dime on the paint selection.  Just include whatever colours you offer in the price, for crying out loud.

never found the GT-R to be sexy.   R34, yes..  not this one though.

too ...uh.. bulky to be sexy.  capable supercar, for sure, no doubt nothing below 500k can touch this thing, but sexy?  ....

Nice article.  Definitely sums up the car well.  I recently drove a 2012 and definitely did not find that the transmission clunks and rattles.  The 2012 I drove also had about 2000 kms on it so maybe the ECU completed it's self learning of the clutches.  I will note, that what aids in smoother shifting is if you slightly back off the gas pedal when shifting up.

One thing I will note from driving this car:  You can drive like a complete moron on the road course and it just does it.  No drama, no fuss.  It just turns, corrects your every mistake, etc.  I will say, it certainly isn't as scary to drive as my modded Z32 300ZX Twin Turbo.  That car has no electronics to save your butt.

Nonetheless, fantastic car, especially for the price.

One little correction:  The VR38DETT is port injected, not direct injected.

Oh sweet jesus.....this is my first lottery purchase when I hit the lotto max. By far the most capable car ever made at a price when your name doesnt have to begin with Sheik to afford it. I think its all kinds of sexy, when you realize that every curve, straightline and bump has a purpose.
Lighten up Francis.....

Great article on a great car...What I never got, was the negativity regarding this car's looks... I think it's great looking...It is exactly what it was designed as: a beast..An engineering marvel...and a bargain.. Thanks again   Jack

Count me in as one that actually likes the look of this car. Just baddass.

I've driven one of these on back roads for about 30 minutes and another 30 minutes as a passenger. A lot of fun and would seriously consider buying one of these if I had too much money laying around.

Not really, I can only speculate based on the corner and the damage I think I know though...  Don't turn early.

personally never liked Asian car nevertheless  considered any as super cars, but it is me.
Buy 100k car which can go fast - no reason with 100 km/h limits.
Does it have reception like Porsche or BMW - not really.
Buy it to ride on track once in a while? Better go with Ariel Atom which is more fun.

So youre driving a Smart Car then??? This isnt a Sentra or an Altima, the GT-R is a legendary marque with years of racing pedigree and history behind it. Reception like a Porsche or BMW, if what you meant is perception, by the vast amount of the know nothing about cars John Q. Public, no, will it show its tailights to any model from those two manufacturers, yes. An Ariel Atom is a one faceted car, absolutely stunning on a track, but thats it, you need to trailer it there, so you need a truck and trailer and storage of sorts. The GT-R isnt as practical as a Caravan, dont get me wrong, but compared to an Atom....it is.

I know that, but unless its a perfect sunny day, warm youre not telling me youre going to take that to the office are you?? I know its street legal but the GT-R can be used to go out for dinner, shopping, hell, take the kids to school if you want, the Atom is one faceted.
