just repeating what you said.No you're not. You picked out one phrase and misrepresented it. But it's what you do.
You haven't driven it?This was a no nonsense courtesy purchase. No screwing about like test drives. It's all in .... blind.
Changing transmission parts? Would the transmission still be under warranty? These are very minor alterations: transmission mount and shifter mount. As RR put it recently: the Mustang transmission is a bit "weak sauce". Always have been. However, it appears that the internal problems with the M82 have been addressed, namely the syncros. Although, one still needs to change out the fluid if the car is not being used in the winter because Ford is, understandably, factory filling with a thin tranny fluid to cover all temperature regions. This is not just a Ford thing.
The "tranny" issue still exists to some extend, mostly in the GTs. The movement of the transmission in relation to the shifter is the issue. The shifter is remote from the transmission and obviously it wasn't the best of options. They should have made a longer transmission and fitted a shorter drive shaft.
And doesn't the modifications void the warranty?
Fords pretty tight on warranty claims, but "the Dealer" can make things happen or not make things happen. Just like in our healthcare system; it's not what you know, it's who you know. Hopefully, this Mustang will never see the inside of a Ford service department. It's a hobby car. When it has an oil change, it gets a real change performed by yours truly. Not a 3 minute drain and then fill.
If this car doesn't blow up in the first 2K kms, it will be good to go.
