^^ Not trying to bother, just repeating what you said.  You haven't driven it?   ???   And doesn't the modifications void the warranty?  Changing transmission parts?  Would the transmission still be under warranty?
If it's just to install a short shifter, likely not.

No you're not.  You picked out one phrase and misrepresented it.  But it's what you do.  :)

You haven't driven it?

This was a no nonsense courtesy purchase.  No screwing about like test drives.   It's all in .... blind.  ;D

Changing transmission parts?  Would the transmission still be under warranty?

These are very minor alterations:  transmission mount and shifter mount.  As RR put it recently: the Mustang transmission is a  bit "weak sauce".  Always have been.  However, it appears that the internal problems with the M82 have been addressed, namely the syncros.  Although, one still needs to change out the fluid if the car is not being used in the winter because Ford is, understandably, factory filling with a thin tranny fluid to cover all temperature regions.  This is not just a Ford thing.

The "tranny" issue still exists to some extend, mostly in the GTs.  The movement of the transmission in relation to the shifter is the issue.  The shifter is remote from the transmission and obviously it wasn't the best of options.  They should have made a longer transmission and fitted a shorter drive shaft.

And doesn't the modifications void the warranty?

Fords pretty tight on warranty claims, but "the Dealer" can make things happen or not make things happen.  Just like in our healthcare system; it's not what you know, it's who you know.  Hopefully, this Mustang will never see the inside of a Ford service department.  It's a hobby car.  When it has an oil change, it gets a real change performed by yours truly.  Not a 3 minute drain and then fill.  :P

If this car doesn't blow up in the first 2K kms, it will be good to go.  :D

My two-doors-down neighbour, owner of the local Ford store, just changed his "tires". He went from red F-150 to black-on-black Mustang GT 'vert. Nice looking toy!

Just back from a walk and saw a new, yellow GT convertible (top up). Took a nice walk-around...a few observations...

I'm surprised at how similar it seems in person to the outgoing model, I expected it to look very dissimilar based on photos

Very understated, actually a pretty 'quiet' design

Appears very slab-like, the rear deck is only slightly higher then the hood. Both are relatively flat, this and the black roof on yellow give the body a monolithic look...the car looks big and...massy.

On whole it struck me as pretty understated (esp. for a yellow car) and more sophisticated than I would have guessed. I'm still not sure about the headlight design but it's a minor quibble.

Received the car on Tuesday and got the Magnaflow mufflers on yesterday.  I'm going to stop slagging Ford for the moment because the car has far exceeded my expectations in all areas.  I read that they made massive improvements, but you hear that sort of thing frequently when they do an overhaul.

This particular car is a manual, 3:55 LSD and 18 inch Goodyear F1 tires.  I think all 3 of those options makes a considerable difference in the driving experience.

Only 100 miles so far, so haven't gone past 6000 rpm.  Redlines at 7K and the power band goes right to it so I'm told.  :D

I cleaned it up when I sold the Porsche.  First impressions and all that.  It works.  It will revert back to normal eventually.  :rofl2:

Lookin good AS!   I like the chairs set up off to the side for oogling.  ;D

I waxed it last night which is a real show of devotion for me and set those folding jobbies up and sat there with the wife and drank.  It's only new for a day or two at the best so you gotta seize the moment.  Used Mother's Step 3 wax in the red plastic bottle.  Trick for me was that I bought a set of 24 micro towels which happened to be on sale at Crappy for $12.  Consequently, I always had a fresh wiping and then buffing cloth.

That Mother's system is actually really good, especially on newer (ie. cleaner) paint...I always have all 3 bottles handy. Anything that has serious contaminants or oxidization would need something stronger though.
