Hitch arrived, total cost (free shipping) is $215.

Went to a buddy's house, he has more tools to use. Took us about 2 hrs to install it. Would of save 30 minutes, I put in one bolt and plate in the wrong wrong, took me that long to re-do it.

The two bikes made the 800 Km journey from AB to BC very comfortably with a Crappy Tire bought rack.

Even more than the money saved is the satisfaction of doing something yourself - even something relatively simple.

Excellent!

No light hookup?

I'm going to do  hitch and lights on the Cayenne soon.

There is a plug in for hitch lights on the rear wheel wheel compartment in the cargo area, I can get a module for around $60. Just plug it in, and hang out under the rear cargo door. Not very neat looking, but works when need it. A hitch shop quoted 3 hrs of labour to make it look professional for the hitch lights  install, plus parts.

I probably won't tow a trailer with the SUV, that is the reason to own a truck.
