Lady Noto's mother's 2015 CX-3 GT with Tech
« on: July 03, 2015, 10:26:32 am »
Well, I can confirm that Mazda will sell a boatload of these, despite the lack of an arm rest.  Lady Noto's mother just picked hers up and :love:s it.  I don't quite understand all the love, and I think the body cladding is too much, but to each their own.

I'm still bothered by pricing, though.  Lady Noto has leased new cars from the same dealer for 15 years (every 2 years or so) and always gets literally the best available price.  Still, this worked out to about $23/month more than the 2013 Mazda CX-5 GT with Tech that it is replacing.  Both were 'brand new models' (i.e. she's a quick adopter), but she wanted the smaller car (she found the CX-5's width to make it feel far too large for her liking).

Anyway, here it is:

Seems like a bit of a downgrade. Those early CX-5s were a bit cheaper than they are now I think. Did she have the 2.0 or 2.5?

And then the chrome strip at the bottom of the doors... Not a fan of that, either.

The GT came standard with the 2.5L.

Still, seems crazy to me that the diminutive CX-3 would be anywhere in the same ballpark as the CX-5.  We're talking smaller engine, torsion-beam rear suspension, NO FRICKEN ARM REST, and smaller vehicle all-around.  It should by no means be more expensive, even if it is 'on par'.  That's my opinion and I understand others will argue that it has more kit, etc.  Still, that's pricey for this little thing.

Notice, all, that it's also parked at Garnet Williams Community Centre in that picture after she finished at the gym.  She then proceeded to Sobey's for grocery shopping, and then to Promenade Shopping Centre.  Daily routine.

*sigh* the new mommymobile has been defined.

Not in '13. All '13 CX-5s had the 2.0.

Also, no torsion beam in the CX-3 with AWD.

You're correct - she didn't have a 2013 CX-5, she had a 2014 CX-5, which was acquired in 2013.  It did, indeed, have the 2.5L.  My mistake on the year.

And I thought we had conclusively determined that the CX-3 AWD does still have torsion beam:

Ah, I missed that about the torsion beam. Seems odd.
