This Lincoln seems to have an oil filter on its air filter.  ??? Any ideas on what is going on there? A breather or something?

Looks OEM and I found this on curbside classics "it’s a Helmholtz resonator" that was removed later on...

That looks awesome.

Seems cheap though, seeing as it costs about $50K to build a good kit one.

Mine is Royal Blue with White stripes.  Indigo Blue has a bit of purple in it.

That looks awesome.

I keep a running spreadsheet of "Superformance Cobras for sale" (530 listings to date) and the average price is around $58,500 USD, although they can range much higher than that.

A friend of mine from California just sold his SPF Cobra for $53,000 USD.  It was a couple years older than the Chilliwack car, but had some nice detail touches to make it closer to the originals.  The buyer got a nice deal on that one.

I like that back to basics dash. Would that be a factory underdash cassette or Radioshack? Enquiring minds want to know. :D

Reminds me of my 1980 Audi's dash, nearly the same odd looking HVAC controls.

Not exactly an old timer but an unusual red Volt fully wrapped in green, as seen http://www.autosthilaire.ca/vehicules/chevrolet-volt-2013-saint-albert/202752/2076174 and autotrader.ca too

Does the OEM (red) paint protected by a full body wrap or it will be a PITA to remove and restore? Same for the mags? Just curious...

Forgot to mention that the 914 is on BaT, and yes that's a now-vintage Realistic tape player under the dash!

http://www.kijiji.ca/v-classic-cars/calgary/spitfire/1161557062

I am still on the casual look out for a cheap Spitfire. I don't care for the Spitfire engines much (thrust washers, crappy ZS carbs, etc) which makes swapped ones tempting. This one is a little odd - has a MG B engine swapped in. Heavy with little extra power. Still vintage I guess. And has SUs. Still with a 4spd which makes highway cruising a chore. But it is cheap at $2k.  And I like cheap. I wouldn't bother with the Rover V8 option - stock rear end won't take it.

Cheaper than that Toyota swapped mongrel I saw a while back (ad gone - I wonder if it sold at $4k).

Wheels would need refinishing right away - way too yellow even for me.

Aside from the driveline hackery that looks like a good project....solid body, salvageable interior.  The hood modifications and air clean setup both look interesting, never seen either before. I'd also be curious/suspect of the bell housing setup as the MGB unit is significantly different than the Spitifire, and the stock spitfire setup is pretty tight as is. Even the transmission mounts have gotta be custom/hacked since the MGB unit is taller and sort of "hangs" from it's mounts whereas the Spitfire trans sorta rests on the frame/mounts. Feels like a lot of work for little gain. 1500 Spitfire engines are weak, but at least you can swap in a replacement in a few hours  ::)

I'm certain this is a flower car conversion. They used to be part of funeral processions, but they're not used that often anymore.

Still being made though:

On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.
