My stohr has 13-inch tires. So light!

Exactly.  Many Miata owners have had no positive, or even negative, results from increasing wheel size.

It helps to buy light wheels.

My drag wheels for my Supra were the very light RX7 FD wheels...14 pounds.  I still have them.
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

So frustrated!
Plan A: Brought my car in to have the 2 front axles replaced with new ones I bought from Amazon (The axle replacement was for a small vibration). Wrong parts. Good thing I brought it in anyway because both axles’ inner CV boots were ripped to pieces.

Plan B: So the mechanic orders in new axles from jobbers. 6 axles later and nothing fits. Time for;

Plan C: replace just the boots so I can at least get to the track. Can only find one.

So, I'll limp home with one inner CV boot replaced, the other one still ripped, but newly packed with grease from my indie. No way am I going to the track Sunday. Will have to wait until my evening 1morelap session next Friday.

Edit:  Disaster averted!  One of the local auto forum members referred me to a forum member who runs an auto parts supply company, No Limits Auto Parts http://www.nolimitsautoparts.com  In turn, he not only referred me to a local supplier but also followed up by phone with me while I was on my way home to make sure I was all set for my track day.  What a great community!  That's half the fun of these track days...hanging around with great people.

This is what I like about track days with people whose driving abilities you know.  This was at yesterday's 1morelap.ca track day at Calabogie's East Track.  I had pointed by the guy in the Infiniti Coupe at the start of the front straight but in the East Track configuration, the next turn comes up really fast!  I delayed my turn in a bit, staying left towards the wall, and he chose to early apex the turn as he should.  We both turned in at about the same time and voila he was past.  I would not have pointed by anyone that I didn't know so close to the corner.

Glad it worked out.  I have bought brake parts from NoLimits and yeah, excellent service.

Turbo is blown. Retaining axle bolt separated and jammed in impeller, stopping it dead. VERY luckily the whole thing didn't turn into metal filings and get ingested into my intake manifold and make *it* go blooey. But it wasn't the $650 unobtanium-dipped OE turbo hose I put on 1.5 years ago.

Hope it's a quick fix.
Hope you don't miss too many track days.  Is the turbo OEM?  Easy to source?
Don't fight it.  The sooner you get it the better.

It won't be a quick fix.  The turbo is toast and in pieces.  The turbo *is* OE and an OE rebuilt one from the dealer is $1600 and would take a couple of weeks to get in.  It's the K03, and while I've been told by others on a local autos forum that it's time to upgrade to the K04, I have some misgivings about the extra oomph, etc.  Granted, I haven't given it much thought but I would think OE and the ECU tune that I have now would keep the total output inside something that the stock engine internals can handle.  ....which it has up to now.  Depressing.

I'm starting to feel better.  One of the links rrocket sent me was to www.hansautoparts.com.  A new K04 complete kit, and which is a direct bolt-in replacement to the K03 is $449 + $20 shipping to the UPS store in Ogdensburg NY.  The K03 is $339.00.  No point being cheap for ~$100.00 difference.  I'll give them a call tomorrow.  Thanks, man!

Just be sure to get the right K04!  One was smaller than the others and fit the TT directly (IIRC it was K04.001 or similar)

Yes seriously.   They sell it at the discount grocer where the radio shack is.   Probably elsewhere too.

Comes in a gigantic container.
