Thanks for the clarification of the QC rebate, I was told by a fellow journalist in QC that it was $8000.  I'll modify.

My tester is also on winter tires.... Michelin x-ice, probably would get better mileage if it was on the OEM tires.

Had the same tires on mine.

Trunk is shallow with the Energi's battery, but still useful:

I can see this being a possible option when we go shopping in a couple of years ....... I wonder how it will fair against the current crop of CUVs we would consider, which include, in no order of importance the Renegade, HR-V, and Crosstrek. This doesn't have AWD, but if it performs well in our Canadian winters, then perhaps that's moot.

and within less than a year this vehicle will have another director competitor with the all new dedicated hybrid the Kia Niro.  No robbed cargo area for this one.
I am surprised it took this long before the  Korea fanboys showed up  :rofl2:

I guess you must be ashamed of what you own as you don't list it  ;D

The Niro is pictured is just a hybrid, not a plug-in. The regular C-Max Hybrid has a pretty useable trunk.

initially your correct it will be just a hybrid but a plug-in version will be added at a later date.  The Niro is a dedicated hybrid vehicle (like the Prius), whereas the C-Max was originally a gas/diesel vehicle modified to be a hybrid - makes a difference.

wish to see more of such body style car to be sold in canada... like the matrix...

Off topic.... why am i missing some article listed in the weekly newsletter email? Tuesday supposes to have 'First Drive: 2017 Audi A4 Allroad, by Jonathan Yarkony', today supposes to have '2017 Dodge Durango, by Jonathan Yarkony'

Unfortunately that won't happen...this car is dead, such a good hybrid but the body shape just didn't cut it.

The model E is coming in 2018 based on the next Focus and it will follow the Prius footsteps - or attempt to

This car certainly is very eco friendly.   This little guy approves.

Nice.  (The photo could benefit from a bit of cropping.)

I like this car, but Consumer Reports rates the reliability as 'worse than average', which would stop me from buying one.

I used to believe in Consumer Reports ratings until I started completing them. Not much room for facts, just general questions. I've had mine for 6 months and it's a real kick to drive. Had a 2013 Focus before and it was reliable even though it had the transmission woes we all hear about. Biggest beef with feedback to the likes of CR has been Sync and MFT/MLT. I have used that for about 4 yeas now and it works great for me. Much easier to use than the Toyota system in my Lexus. The 2016 CMax has the newer version, which I've not used, but is reportedly better. So if Sync/MFT is CRs biggest beef with the car, not a viable reason for passing on it.

This is my biggest beef with any Ford/CR issues, is it a real issue, or are the just old men that can't figure out a display??

It`s some of both. Since it`s self reported information, it gets muddy. I tend to ignore the MFT/Sync issues because I've never had issues with them myself and it's too difficult to get decent information on whether it's actually an ergonomic or reliability issue.

Beyond that, like so many Fords it is actually pretty reliable.

You can get a hitch for it. My brother in law tows a utility trailer with his. Don't know if Ford recommends it or not though.

1.5 l/100km with the freedom to drive anywhere, anytime! And a C-Max Energi still has more trunk room than a scooter  ;) I did 5.5 with mine but with a major highway trip factored in.
