Maybe zip tie this to the front of that F150?

A lot of kms but this seems really cheap http://www.kijiji.ca/v-cars-trucks/edmonton/2002-escalade/1155184399

Another cheaper one - http://www.kijiji.ca/v-cars-trucks/grande-prairie/escalade/1151817802

This one is semi local to me - http://www.kijiji.ca/v-cars-trucks/lethbridge/2007-cadillac-escalade-suv-crossover/1151455435

http://www.kijiji.ca/v-cars-trucks/calgary/2006-cadillac-escalade-esv-platinum-edition/1150287794

I'd go with this one if I was you. Has the heart of an Escalade. Or could with a thousand garage hours and all your money.

Thanks for the links.

#1 is a 5.3, meaning it's RWD. No beuno. I also believe it's a US truck (think RWD was only available in US). It's also an 02, I am trying to avoid 02's as they've got some issues and 03+ got some nice updates.

#2 is an ESV (long wheel base), yuk. But it is a good price, especially for an 07.

#3 &4 are nice, low kms. Wish they were local though, at those prices it's hardly worth the transit to bring them here.

Believe it or not, I don't think I'd have much luck selling Mrs.Firm on the 240 ;)

Finally!
Put a deposit down on a truck earlier today - should be closing the deal on Friday. If everything goes well I'll post a proper S&S.

It's what 'we' wanted; 06, white/tan. Truck was brought to Ontario from Alberta about 6 months ago, so it's remarkably rust free; only a couple tiny spots on the inside of one rear door - which I can easily fix up. I drove it today and it drives nice, tight, no weird noises, A/C blows ice cold, everything works, etc.

Here's a link to the ad (for as long as it stays up)...Didn't pay asking...

Thanks, I am happy at the thought of a new vehicle to play with.......I am really not happy at the thought of doing paint correction on a truck the size of a small building, or scrubbing 10 years of abuse off 20" chrome rims, or the spills of 3 kids out of the rear carpets. Mrs.Firm better step up and help, otherwise she's gunna be rollin around in the pigsti  ::)

Looks good, I'm looking forward to hearing how it works out for you.

Looks great Firm! These things are absolute tanks, very dependable rigs. Count on the autoride suspension to be the costliest repair, they tend to give trouble after 10 yrs/200+ Km, and it's usually the compressor that goes haywire.

Another great thing, super easy to work on. Swap a water pump in less than a hour, plugs and wires in 45 min, etc.....

I really couldn't imagine owning any other brand of full size SUV.

Thanks Guys,
Arthur, it is reasonably clean I guess - in person it's a little icky.

Rev, agreed...I'd never trust a 10 year old 200+km vehicle  that wasn't a full-sized GM truck....I don't expect it to be fault-less, but knowing that it's simple enough to fix myself with some basic knowledge and tools is why I am comfortable with the kms.
PM'd you BTW.

Excellent. Now it is time to call Xzibit to have it pimped.

That year of 'Slade is actually a pretty simple machine in terms of major systems.  Nice find!

Tow vehicle for projects for sure! I already checked and it's ready to haul.

I have a feeling I am going to be the butt of a lot more rap jokes over the next few weeks.....Will have to drown them out with Country music on the Bose system  ;D

Brought home the new beast today. Deal went smooth and the truck made the 2 hour trip home in perfect comfort...A/C cranked and guzzling fuel at a nasty 16L/100kms. Needs some cosmetic attention, a window switch and the rear wiper doesn't work.

I haven't touch it since we got home...Tomorrow will be deep cleaning the interior.

Thanks to Vantage007 for driving us all the way out there in the heat to pick it up.

Will get some pics over the weekend and put them up in the S&S.

For now here's two quick shots of Mrs.Firm a few minutes after we picked it up. A "white Escalade" has been the one and only car she's ever really lusted after, so today was a big day for her  :D

Actually...See that pic reminded me...I did do one thing since getting home - I removed that ridiculous ground strap.
