The first thing I thought:  it looks like it's crying....with a single teardrop at the corner of ear eye.  Poor thing.

Looking good.  The fog light does look like a tear drop.

Are we sure this Yaris is going to be built in Europe for our market?  I thought Toyota had something going on with Mazda to have the next generation Yaris built in Mexico on the Mazda 2 platform, no?

Body looks EXACTLY the same as the 2014 Yaris, just a few cosmetic changes with the lights, plus a nicer interior.  I guess that's a good thing.

Meh not liking these gaping front ends especially on such a small car.
The door mirror looks strange, like it should be attached to the black triangle but it's not.
It all hardly looks new to me, more  like a rehashed old one..

I think this is the most disappointing thing I've read all day...

While my chief complaint relates to the interior being as cheap as the reusable k-cups I just bought from China off ebay (5 for $0.99 with free shipping), the powertrain really needed an update - especially the 4-speed.  It's insane to drive from Windsor to Toronto at 105km/h constant and achieve 7.2L/100km.  The exterior, like the Rav4, is now overstyled and suggestive (as mentioned by others here), but I'd welcome the looks if the meat underneath were something to be proud of.

The Yaris 5-door is a great ride for a high schooler-entry university student, but mon dieu, that powertrain needed an update.

I, too, am disappointed to hear that Mazyota 2Yar didn't show up, but nice to hear it's not being built in Mexico.

For those Canadians who desperately wanted a French-built car but could not quite afford a Bugatti Veyron
there is finally an alternative in our marketplace.

My I suggest they send across the Atlantic  a few with the 1.4 Diesel and 70 mpg capability.

Good God.....that gaping maw makes this thing look like it could be attached to some giant industrial vacuum machine and used to dredge a harbor.

Also disappointed.  Since I can get 8.4L/100km from a Subaru Legacy (2.5L CVT).  And that's a midsize car with All-Wheel Drive.

The compact sedans have better aero, and use engines that are typically not much larger, and/or have more advanced management systems.  They offer the same or even better fuel economy than the little hatches, but do cost more.
