On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

Toyota didn't design and build the Highlander to compete with the Miata or Cayman or whatever.  This thing is about selling high-margin SUVs by the boat-loads, and it works.  People love them.  They're everywhere.  95% of people see cars as appliances and they want something well made, reliable, and comfortable.

My own Highlander is probably the most boring vehicle I've ever owned.  And because of that, it's awesome! It does what it was designed to do, and very, very well.

The only thing I don't like about the newest HL is the change away from full time AWD.

The .gif was as much to do with the general vibe of the article as the Highlander itself.

The Highlander does pretty much everything well, and nothing poorly.

HL  is way more  comfortable to drive than the  Koreans SUVs
Almost bought a 2014 back in April , but the numbers did not work for me
Now if I could that Ram 1500 lease I would run , maybe roll to the dealer  :rofl2:

Boring vehicle + autos forum members = endless rants and comparisons about the most mundane characteristics, and thread derailments.  Perfect!  ;D

There are two engine choices (three if you count the hybrid), a 3.6L V6 and the 2.7L four-cylinder also found in the RAV4

I thought they dropped the four.  I might be wrong.  I haven't looked.  Like Trump - "I hear things..."

Either way it's not the same four as the RAV4.

There is ONLY ONE FACK'N ENGINE!   and it's a 3.5L  V6   !!!!

This is one of the sloppiest pieces that has appeared on this site.

She must have had GM's wonderful 3.6L engine on her mind, when writing the piece.

...and, as I 'member, the Highlander we had back in April had winter tires on it.

...but I'm always willing to forgive Lesley as she is awesome in every respect.  And besides, I may still be wrong about the tire thing :P  (if I 'member correctly, only the Durango and Chevy had 3-season tires).

I blame it on the Aussie editor that let it slide :P
