...in the US.

No idea what that means for us though. Mucho probable that Mazda Canada will import the Mexican 2, but we never know.

I heard that the Mazda2 was delayed again because Mazda was focusing on the CX-3 and MX-5.  So we won't be getting the 2016 but might be getting it for 2017 model year, at least that's what I read before.

I believe Canadians will still get it, same as the Mazda 5. Mind you, it's not like Mazda 2 sales are off the charts in Canada but perhaps Mazda knows that a well built and appointed subcompact has a chance of succeeding in Canada, mostly in Quebec.

To the end of May. It's all old new stock since there are no 2015s.

no mention of the 2016 Mazda 2 on the Canadian Mazda website.  It's gone from the US site.
location:  Prince Edward County, Ontario

Mazda also attributed the decision to the growing crossover segment, more notably the new subcompact crossover market that is becoming one of the fastest growing segments in Canada this year.

Yeah, there's no question that the CX-3 has higher margins.

There is a new Mazda 3 G sedan for 2016. Manual only, and it lacks air, cruise, and Bluetooth. At $15,550 it's only marginally cheaper than a base 2015 GX though. Still a better value than a base 2 was. Too bad you can't get a cheap hatchback 3.

Tough segment to compete in. The barebone Elantra is currently the same 15.5 cash, however IIRC it went as cheap as 12 or 12.5k past August.
