Canada Day
« on: June 30, 2015, 08:02:49 pm »
What's everyone doing for Canada Day tomorrow?  For myself, I'm taking my family to a friends house and hope to relax around their pool with some drinks and some good food.  Just hoping the weather cooperates.  Regardless of what everyone plans on doing, have a safe and fun Canada Day everyone!  Cheers!

Sneaking out in the morning to go dirt biking, then a BBQ at home with my wife, then drinks on the patio with friends until it's time to walk two blocks to go see the fireworks.

Getting home after being away a week, having a BBQ followed by fireworks with the kids.  After that it'll be fireworks for me and the Mrs  ;D

Mine started off with having to take my boyfriend, who was in severe abdominal pain at 7:30 tonight, to the ER.  Turns out it's a kidney stone measuring 1 cm, which is considered large, and will have to be ultrasonically shattered before it can pass through his pee pee.  My guy is the type to never complain about anything - he drove himself to a hospital once, after shattering his arm doing work at his remote property up north.  To see him writhing in pain tonight, trembling and drenched in sweat until they got him IV meds, was rather gut-wrenching.  :-\  I'm glad I was able to be there for him.

I am grateful for my country, and the for the amazing care and concern received from everyone in that healthcare facility - all for free.  Go, Canada!

Heading to my sister's place in Carp to hang out with her and her family and take a dip or two in their pool, provided the weather co-operates- later returning downtown to watch fireworks with friends.
I'd rather be car-poor than house-poor...

Free health care?  Happy Canada Day indeed. And all this time I thought someone somewhere was paying for that healthcare ;D

Yes. Those people are truly amazing! When I was in hospital last year, I told my wife the nurses and staff were simply amazing people and work so hard.

I hope your boyfriend is doing better and you two have a great day. Cheers!

Thanks, much appreciated!  He's resting comfortably at home, off work for a week, with a giant pile of Percocets at the ready in case the pain returns before he gets treated.

Hope your man friend has a speedy recovery Brigitte, kidney stones are horrid, know a few friends that got them and they are terrible. On a happier note, happy Canadas day to all, I am working but we get Friday off.
Lighten up Francis.....
