I've always liked Alfa Romeos, and I wonder what the long term plans for the brand are in North America. As a consumer, more choice is always a plus!

Plus, images of a showroom that includes an Abarth, 300S, Viper, Challenger Hellcat, and Alfas sounds pretty good to me!

If all of their models are on RWD platforms, does that preclude AWD?  I'd wager that RWD platforms only will be a limited sell to a large portion of North America.

The 4C seems to be exceptionally well-received, and as Kris stated; at least choice is good :) and Alfa is at least distinctive!

Alpha Romeo might bring Ferrari like driving to the general public but it also brings Ferrari like reliability. No thanks.

Is the 4C even available in Canada?  Select dealerships in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, and perhaps Calgary, I presume.  Anyone actually ever see on in the Great White North?
I'd rather be car-poor than house-poor...

I'm sure they will be offering AWD. The C-Class and 3 series are built on RWD platforms, but offer AWD versions, just as the A4 is built on a FWD platform but offers AWD as an option.

I  love the idea of an Alfa sedan, but the reality of their mainstream cars in Europe has been pretty mediocre for the last couple of decades at least. The 155, 156 and 159 were never remotely competitive with the 3 series and also horrendously unreliable with a truly terrible dealer network (in the UK at least).

The key will be leasing I think - I've always been interested in trying out more unique or 'unproven' vehicles (the then new Saturn Ion) or new manufacturers (Daewoo's Lanos).

Knowing you have a decent payment and a 48 month 'escape' clause gave me the confidence I wasn't dragging a dog around with 36 more months of financing payments.

Also gets more cars OUT IN PUBLIC, which is free advertising.
Fortune favours the bold!

I see nothing appealing about those vehicles.

I see nothing appealing about those vehicles.

I have to agree, and a good question. What makes them special?

Hah, that's true.

That said, I don't see what's so special -- at least under the skin -- about Alfa's either. But, there's something about certain models, like the Brera and its three-light kin, that I really like from an aesthetic point of view.
