Are you following the Sudanese tradition of the groom's family giving cows as a dowry to the bride's family?
The thought had crossed my mind ;)

Soooo, I got quote for insurance for a 2015 WRX.

...and somehow, it's cheaper to insure a 2015 WRX than it is to insure a 2.0i Impreza, a Honda Civic, a Corolla, or a 2011 Forester XT ;).

Part of me is seriously considering this purchase.  Like, seriously.

I should add that the quote still made me cry a little.  Holy crap is it expensive.  Stupid GTA :(

Aren't you paying cash?  If so, why not buy from the US?  That dealership has certainly treated you well.

Talking about INSURANCE quote...the manner in which I purchase my vehicle has no bearing on insurance rates.

And yes, that dealership most certainly has treated me well :)

GTA?  is very broad.  Oakville is GTA, and insurance is decent there.  What kind of quote?  2015 Mazda6 is around $900 for me.  Over 25 and married does wonders!

Kids can split the car and the insurance.  It will be a lot cheaper since my daughter is older.  And girls are about 40% cheaper  than guys! I had to pay for my insurance, gas.  They want to drive, they can pay for it..Thats what part time jobs are for!  I have better things to do with my money.

:o :o :o
ARE YOU SERIOUS?  $900/year?!  My cheapest quote for basic insurance (which I wouldn't go for - need to purchase some optionals re: uninsured/unidentified etc. ($200k won't cover my income loss claims in that event, for e.g.)) was $2,500.  I put in my work's postal code, which is mid-town Toronto.

When Lady Noto's address was Guelph, her insurance was $1,000 cheaper than when she moved back to Toronto.  ...then for Ithaca, it went back down somewhere in the middle.

I need to move somewhere cheaper.

I've heard that Brampton is one of the worst for car insurance in the GTA.

Mississauga is pretty awful too... my dad pays $1800/yr to insure a Corolla...

It'd easily halve in Burlington but since he's renting presently it doesn't make sense to move and have a commute.

$1000, thats kind of normal.....for anyone with your, how can I put this nicely, driving experience because of your age..... ;D Whats with the 403?? High car thefts?? Lots of accidents?? No garages so high rates of vandalism and cars getting damaged by hail and falling trees??
