Can't think of a better way to spend $42000. Seriously.

Found one in PQ, preferred colours - 2011 for $30,000. Not cheap. There's not really much around in a convertible body style that is as distinctive AND practical. I do understand, however, that many on this forum would not want to be even seen in one. "One man's garbage..."

I might not agree but never buy what the forum wants you to buy. Buy what you want, for yourself, not for the peanut gallery.

What's practical about it?  Is there really more space than say a Sebring convertible ?

I think it's a jolly good move with the FWD option.

They have always had an FWD option...

Apparently in floods, they're good floaters.

About a foot more trunk space top up and down, more spacious back seat, more ground clearance, driver sits higher, 5 inches shorter, improved ingress/egress, AWD. That's about it.

The Murano was the first CUV (vs SUV) that I drove way back when. I wanted to hate it (and all girly CUVs) but it was to comfortable and smooth to hate. In the early days it was relatively contemporary but didn't seem to evolve. Not sure if they can make their way back with all strong the competition now.

While I don't like the noise that CVT makes under hard acceleration, my experience with CVT has been reliable, at least.
For the four years me plus the two years under my brother's ownership, there hasn't been one issue with Altima's CVT paired to their 2.5 engine.
Nissan is doing better with the CUVs lately, IMO.  Rogue looks like it's selling well and the Murano with the lower price will also sell pretty well, I think.   Standard navigation for all models is a surprising move.
