The Grand Caravan might be outselling everything else combined in Canada, but in the bigger market United States, the Grand Caravan, Town & Country, Sienna, and Odyssey are pretty much tied at approximately 100,000 vehicles each per year. So there is definitely a market for more upscale minivans, but less so among ch... frugal... Canadians.

A luxury minivan might find favour with luxury limo operators. I would think a service like Aerocar out here in Vancouver would be very much interested in a luxury minivan that is plush and comfortable on the inside as a suitable replacement for say a large SUV, while having more space and being easier on gas.

They already make one.  It's called the Sienna Limited.  About as luxurious as a Lexus.

Missing the most important thing...the badge of a premium/luxury vehicle.  Which is why you see Town Cars as Airport cars still, and not Crown Victorias!

No way. Toyota needs to bring the Alphard here and slap a Lexus badge on that.

Might I remind you that the top spec Sienna is already $48k MSRP?!  No chance Lexus could sell a minivan anywhere above that cost.

If the Sienna topped out at $38k (LE trim max), and then a Lexus version started at $41k (XLE trim minimum), then the differentiation would work.  As it stands, minivans are already far too expensive for growing families.  My brother makes a sh!t ton of $ and between paying for private school, two cars (a Mazda 3 GS and previously a Rogue SV), a mortgage (admittedly on a very nice house), and his wife's stupid purchases, he can't afford a $50k car at this point in his life (mid-30s).

An Acura minivan is reaching into a pond as small as the NSX's (unless they cut the max trim on the Odyssey like I suggested for the Sienna/Lexus variant).

So what your saying.  It's ok to spend $70k on an MDX Elite SUV, but not $60k on an Acura Minivan?  It's never been tried here, so it's hard to say what would happen.  All I know is, you still see quite a few top tier minivans at schools, and malls.  Lot of people like the badge, so having that option would be interesting.  It would be quite the experiment for manufacturer to do it.  More practical than a Murano convertible...

From Car&Driver:
"A mule for the next Honda Odyssey minivan, seen roaming the streets of Los Angeles. Yes, many Acura MDX pieces are evident inside and out, but don’t believe it: Our sources both inside and outside Acura say the luxury brand has no minivan plan."
