Removing Silicone Spray
« on: November 05, 2014, 10:06:16 am »
I had an issue with my car, and instead of putting silicone onto a cloth and wiping it onto the rubber seal, they sprayed it and it got everywhere, paint, body, seats.  I stay clear of anything silicone, so how does one remove it from the windows and body?  I protected my seats and it just seemed to wipe off without any trouble, but I need to make sure it is off the exterior, especially the windows.

I'd not be using brake cleaner.

Use WD40.  Safe

WD-40.  Would have never considered that.

Use an all purpose cleaner (diluted 1:10 for leather seats or 1:3 for nasty spots). For glass use ammonia free cleaner. Avoid WD 40 and/or brake cleaner.

I'd also remove silicone off of rubber door jamb seals.
