2015 WRX
« on: October 29, 2014, 09:46:55 pm »
After much deliberation I finally decided to go for the Subaru WRX. I really wanted a sporty 4 door car, looked at Audi S3, BMW 3 series and the GTI but in the end the WRX is really the best bang for the buck. Also i'm super glad I opted for the manual trans. (1st manual for me!) because it is hoot to drive.

The stock wheels (17") have become my winter setup since I have already purchased 18" wheels which will get the summer tires next spring. The summer wheels are actually the previous generation STi wheels which I like a lot. After having the car for a couple weeks we took a trip to Toronto and I am impressed with the mileage. I know the onboard l/100KM isn't always the most accurate but over 1100km trip I got around 6.5l/100km with winters on.

Trim: Sport-Tech

Anyways let's get on with the pics...

I am very jealous. VERY jealous.  >:( :'(

Congratulations!  ;D

I'm hoping Subaru will update the infotainment system next year like they did for the Legacy, Crosstrek and Impreza.

Congrats!!

I'll PM you an Ottawa tire shop you can call for a quote when you're looking for tires.  It's run by an MCO driving instructor who's fanatical about cars and has invested a lot in a touchless tire changer and very nice balancer.  A lot of members of the local FR-S/BRZ club go there and they're quite discerning about where they service their cars.
Don't fight it.  The sooner you get it the better.

So, tell me what exactly made you decide on the WRX over the S3 or 3-series!!

Niiiiice!!!

WRX is very high on my list too.  Between that and a 228/235... have to determine if the price premium is worth it...
I guess this is what the AIO is for?   ;D

It's funny, just doesn't help me understand why the WRX is better than an S3 to a buyer ;)

Great choice! She's a beauty.

No manual in the S3? 3 series too expensive and bloated these days? Both cost about 40% more than the WRX.

Congrats!! Awesome choice and really digging the colour. I haven't driven any of the cars you were shopping but the WRX really does seem like tremendous value for the enthusiast. Here's to many happy miles for ya  8)
