No one will buy it if its branded as a Scion.
I actually disagree. The fact that Scion dealerships are never standalone, but always conjoined with Toyota gives many the piece of mind they want in buying a Toyota.
If there is no identical sibling, people will uptake the Scion. E.g. if Toyota sold the GT-86 along-side the Scion FR-S, the FR-S would never sell. Ever. Enter the next-gen Matrix: if you want a cheapo Toyota hatchback larger than the Yaris (possibly with AWD), no such thing...then the salesperson points at the Scion iM (i.e. Scion
impersonating
Matrix) and they say "ahh, let's check 'er out!".
Scion as a brand started off on the cheap. The xA/xB were cheap, but value-driven. Then came the others that just seemed cheap without the value. If Scion drops all the cheapo stuff and introduces the iM, FR-S, and others that are purely sporty/value-y, then it can save its name. If they continue with the stupid iQ or other econoboxes, there will be no more Scion in a couple of years.
^^They do have the Auris Touring in euroland...I doubt we'd ever see it here though...
...you mean the Prius V without the centre-mounted dashboard and hybrid powertrain?
Regarding all of the above, I HATE the snout. Please make it less snouty.
