squeak on new tires during cornering?
« on: October 01, 2014, 06:52:01 pm »
Just got a new set of tires installed.  I only purchased the wheel balancing but no wheel alignment.  Tires feel great on straight road but it squeaks on the first few right-turn but seems to gone later.  Is there any concern?

thanks

Tries are made in mold, it is a release agent to take it out.

Not all tires use it, so t could also just be the shiny newness.  Once the scuff up a bit they be fine

All tires not created equal.

What brand, size, and vehicle?

Continental TrueContact.  I don't hear any more squeak.

I suspect you have a mechanical tire with the car, not a tire issue.  If it comes back, I'd look at the springs or something else in the suspension.

it is also possible the tires weren't completely seated on the rim and the first few turns forced it into position - and the squeaking sound was that movement.

In either case, nothing to worry about if it is truly gone.  If it comes back, then worry.

That's an excellent choice, as per autos.ca's review ;)
