You are absolutely correct.  We have both growing around my office building; they both turn red, but the leaves look different.  I had "Boston Ivy" in my head when I took the shot, but it is, indeed, Virginia Creeper.  Thank you.   :)

For 20 extra points, name the species.

Interesting!  Both a red-breasted (with eye stripe) and white-breasted nuthatch (no eye stripe).

Bring birdseed with sunflower seeds next time, and they'll land on your hand.   :)

I haven't tried enticing them to my hand yet, but they are now about as tame as the chickadees who have no qualms about hand feeding.   Oddly we hadn't ever seen a red-breasted nuthatch until about a month ago, now they are coming in droves, er, flocks.  :)

I was taking handheld flash photos of them from about 10 inches away and they didn't mind that too much.

Here's a couple more,

Do you realize that in about 30 (updated as requested) years, we'll have millions of old ladies running around with tattoos?

I went a different direction with some of the pumpkins this year. I usually go for "beauty" shots with the best gourds but I'm afraid of repeating myself as I run out of ideas.

So, though I did do some more classical pumpkins, I also carved a few beat-up, mouldy ones...sort of "zombie decay" style.
